Essential Skills for Compromising in Relationships

Essential Skills for Compromising in Relationships

https://preview.redd.it/twimqztq4xo51.png?width=1344&format=png&auto=webp&s=499bad1dfda3d9e3364d1a3770e2c64b82e93193
Compromising wasn’t something I ever learned in school. How about you? Anyway, I had to learn compromising skills the hard way….mostly through difficult and challenging moments in relationships that didn’t end well.
Ideally, we’d grow up in families where compromising skills are role-modeled in a healthy way, but few of us are so lucky; we have to learn them on our own into adulthood.
Knowing how to compromise is an essential skill we must possess if we want to have better relationships. Whether we’re talking about the relationship with our romantic partner, our children, our co-workers, or our bosses. Compromise is essential.
Here are 4 parts to compromising that we have to get good at if we want to be in positive, life-giving relationships:
#1. Take the Long View
Many times, we get so caught up and obsessed about the tiny details of the momentary issue that we forget it might not even be that important in the grand scheme of things.
We need to see the big picture and the long view for relationships and ask ourselves if this is really a hill we want to die on. 99% of the time it’s not.
#2. Put on Their Shoes
In order for us to be skilled at compromising, we have to have empathy for the other. We need to understand the emotions behind their desires, or else we’ll never really get to the heart of the matter.
Our ability to empathize helps us relate to the other and to understand them better, which allows us to understand more deeply what we’re even trying to compromise on in the first place.
#3. Know Third Place Wins
Third place is that win-win solution that you come up with. Nobody gets exactly what they want, but nobody totally loses either. It’s the middle ground that is third place.
To be successful in any relationship, we have to get comfortable with not getting what we want, but also not totally losing either. We need to see that third place is truly the best place.
#4. Master Mental Yoga
This is all about being flexible. Comprising requires us to let go of control and rigidity and to learn how to be flexible in our wants, needs, and desires.
Being flexible requires that we’re not always right and that sometimes we’ll own when we’re wrong. Because let’s face it, we’re wrong sometimes. And it’s OK to admit that for the sake of healthy relationships. This is being flexible.
When you think about compromising in these four ways, you’ll score some big relationship points being someone that knows how to compromise well. And as always, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like help coaching you or your team on growing in this important area of life.

2020.09.23 16:44 baconlovr NFL Week 3 Predictions Thread (2020 Season)

Happy Fall, NFL! Monday was the first day of Autumn, so now we're in prime football season! Holy crap, we had a ton of injuries last week, which will probably impact a lot of outcomes this week. I redeemed my self by going 13-3 last week. How did everyone else do? Teams are starting to get the rust off and we'll start seeing some great games. Let's get to it!
Winner Loser Comments
Jaguars over Dolphins The Stache vs The Beard! I can't see Miami outscoring Jacksonville in this game, especially if Byron Jones is out of the Dolphins' lineup. Minshew's strong start to the season combined with Miami's relative struggles defensively tilts the scale toward the Jaguars.
Bears over Falcons The way Atlanta lost last week, it's heard to believe they can win that many games this season unless they can fix some fundamentals. I think this game will be a close one; the Bears defense has been good-but-not-great through their two wins. Chicago will do some scoring against Atlanta's shaky defense.
Bills over Rams Toss-up for me on this one. The Bills have taken care of business in the division thus far. This game will tell us more about the Bills' chances beyond the division. The Rams are off to a hot start, and McVay tends to play well in this early window for a west coast team.
Browns over Washington Washington through two weeks has proven it will not be an easy out no matter its limitations. The Browns are still trying to prove their roster can play well enough together to win on a consistent basis. Cleveland can't afford to drop this one at home and spoil all of the positive vibes that came from their Week 2 win.
Titans over Vikings Minnesota is 0-2 after a clunker in Indy. A home game could help this team get out of that funk, but they're facing a rolling Titans team.
Patriots over Raiders You know that the Dark Lord was watching Vegas exploit the Saints and taking notes. Cam looks comfortable with his new team and I think this will be another good game to watch with a close score.
49ers over Giants RIP both teams. San Fran is back at MetLife Stadium, which may or may not have led to the alarming injuries they suffered last week when they played the Jets at the same venue. Garoppolo being out of the lineup will help make this a close game, but the 49ers will be the better team regardless.
Bengals over Eagles Barring a tie, one of these teams is going to leave Philly on Sunday in an 0-3 hole and with the inevitable feeling that its hopes for the season are dashed. The Eagles' brutal performances in their two losses suggest there will be no homefield advantage. The trends for these teams are moving in a way that's good for Cincinnati and bad for Philly.
Steelers over Texans The Steelers are 2-0 after wins against bad teams, and the Texans are 0-2 after losses to good teams. Houston will be in desperation mode, but Watson can only do so much. The Steelers' complete roster and coaching advantages will outweigh the Texans' QB advantage.
Colts over Jets The Jets have to at least compete against the Colts, or the calls for coach Gase's job will become louder than they already are. The only chance for that, though, is a bunch of Rivers turnovers, which is not out of the realm of possibility.
Chargers over Panthers The Chargers are dealing with a strange quarterback situation, insisting they'll put Tyrod Taylor back in the lineup if he can play following the chest-pain scare that led to rookie Herbert's impressive first start last week. Regardless, the Panthers' chances in this game depend on CMC's availability, and he'll be out.
Buccaneers over Broncos The Bucs' offense looked much better in Week 2, while the Broncos got smattered with injuries. Even with healthy starters, Denver would have their hands full with Tompa Bay.
Cardinals over Lions Based mostly on the incredible play of Kyler Murray through the first two weeks of the season, this game for the Lions has gone from winnable to challenging in a hurry. Detroit's defense doesn't have enough to slow down Arizona, which will put Stafford in more bad spots.
Seahawks over Cowboys Dallas showed us in amazing fashion that they can come together as a team and can rally to obliterate a huge deficit to win an impossible game. Counterpoint, they were playing the Falcons. The Seahawks are a different bird altogether, pun intended. Wilson is coming off an outstanding game against New England and I think the streak will continue.
Saints over Packers Totally a heart pick here, no lie. This game understandably will be teased as a matchup of future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, even though the best players on the field might end up being running backs Jones and Kamara. I'm giving the slight edge to NOLA because Brees usually doesn't have bad back-to-back showings and the defense will correct its errors from the Vegas game. And it's speculated that Michael Thomas may be back in the lineup this week. Totally expecting to be wrong on this pick.
Ravens over Chiefs Upset maybe? The Ravens have looked better than the Chiefs thus far in 2020, so I'll take the home team by a slim margin. The Chargers game exposed how beatable the Chiefs are, and I expect Baltimore to take full advantage.
Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Best of luck!

Hi everyone, I'm in cs scene for 7 years, 5 years of playing and 2 years of coaching. I have so much experience and knowledge in myself and I would like to share with you/your team and make you better. I worked as a head coach and also analyst for the teams. For last year , I only worked with individual players.
Crew Sixteen
DARK LEGION
Crownless Kings
I was the coach for these 3 but they were just some short term relations with them, so we didn't have much time to achieve our goals.
Orion Gaming (NQC)
Worked as an analyst, the team was newly gathered but we had a good chemistry and find quick success as we qualified for regional finals twice and beat some of the well-known teams in our region.

I haven't worked with an international squad but I had no problem working with individuals around the world. So it's not gonna be a problem with a team too, I can handle that.
For last month I had to take a break but I worked with a couple guys from reddit too, you can contact with them too for information if you'd like. I do this for living, this is my job and I charge for a reasonable amount.

2020.09.23 06:12 SGArrawen Very long misunderstood and confused ramblings of a 25 year old.

This post is for the people who enjoy reading literal nonsense. There is a very powerful saying. It reads: “If you’re alive and not learning things, something is wrong.” Cheesy, I know. But when you break it down, you can really value its importance, especially relating to modern society. In the day and age we live in, you really can do just about anything if you put the time into effective learning practices. Whether that’s an hour or two through a guided YouTube video, an in-depth tutorial or walkthrough for day-to-day, or some time spent daily with a coach or mentor. The possibilities are quite literally infinite. The combinations of what each person can accomplish or experience have such incredible and yet undefined worth. Each person on Earth has their own timeline, interests, emotions, attitudes, and uniqueness’s. How do we value these experiences? How do we put a label on someone’s entire life, or better yet, their own actions during their timeline? This is what empathy incarnates; the feeling of understanding an individual’s situations and believing that, had you been in that specific instance yourself, you would feel similar to the description or reaction you are witnessing. This is how humans connect to one-another. We connect through such powerful emotions and beliefs that there is no other creature on the face of the planet that can captivate us in the same manner we can captivate one another. A raccoon may be adorable, or intriguing, but we cannot understand their thought process as complexly as we can one another. So then, with this information, whether it be new or old amongst you, I will reiterate. How do we value these experiences? The answer is quite simple in fact. There is no way to value experiences that are not your own. As I stated earlier, you really can achieve anything you truly desire out of life. So why then, do so many struggle day-in and day-out? Their risks may have been greater than others, or perhaps they have never taken a risk and asked for what they want before. Why is it that people see themselves as helpless when they have everything they could ever need at their disposal? It is possible that they have never had someone they trusted to guide them, or did not have the knowledge to guide themselves. These are cheap excuses. The power of the human spirit is beyond comprehension. We are able to, in dire circumstance; draw upon power we have previously stored away. We are able to move past our problems, although they may haunt us, we find ways to move along. We are able to understand complex problems and through our own, or other’s experience, come up with solutions just as complex, if not more so. Now let’s retort that initial statement. Who is to claim, “If you’re alive and not learning things, something is wrong.”? The answer is that no one must, or should believe in this saying. There is incredible value in learning, and there is no other species that learns as much or as comprehensively as human beings. But to claim that something is wrong is beyond bold. There is NOTHING wrong with living life in whichever sense best embodies you. We live in a society that creates value in monetary, infamy, status, and other basic terms. But have you ever lived in a society that appreciates those who do whatever they want, when they want to do it? Let’s exclude those with purpose of harming others, mentally, physically, or otherwise. In a society such as described, can we grow? Do we have the ability to ‘move on’ to the next level of humanity? A level which induces such a true sense of freedom and independence without limitation? These are the thoughts that our fore-fathers emboldened and examined for centuries. I do not aim to become infamous, or to ravage anyone’s productive and accomplished lifestyles. I feel as though I live to question, and that seems enough.

2020.09.22 23:34 venuscope I'm really curious to see where the idols of today might end up in 5, 10, 15 years

We all know that most all KPOP idols (unless you are insanely successful) have a relatively short shelf life- and I feel as though that "life", that duration in which you can be active before you start falling into irrelevancy, is starting to get shorter and shorter, especially since the market is growing so much more saturated.
It always makes me wonder what these idols will do once they hit 30, 35, 40- I guess since all of them have been part of the "entertainment scene" they might hope to become a vocal/dance coach or maybe being an actor or MC-ing or whatever-- but even then, there's only so many vocal/dance coaches you can have. Or maybe some could pick back up "regular" jobs but then that would require going back to school or getting training. Obviously there is no way to know this but I'm actually kind of curious to see whether some have "backup plans" for when their idol stint might end. Maybe it's starting a family, maybe it's looking for a different job.
What are your thoughts? I kind of find this fascinating because as someone who really likes stability I don't think I would ever have the guts to try to become an idol. The instability of the job and the lack of longevity in the career path are not worth my (if I'm lucky) 5 years of fame.

2020.09.22 22:48 purplesunset_ Guy who's into dating/pick-up techniques: red flag? (F23, M24)

So I've met a guy two months ago on a dating app. I wasn't necessarily looking for something, but I was mostly using it out of boredom and as a way to meet and talk to people when it's becoming almost impossible to do that in person because of covid-19. We clicked rather quickly, and after a few weeks only we actually started to text and talk on the phone everyday. I feel like he's becoming such an important part of my life, especially since I'm currently dissatisfied with most aspects of my life and I'm struggling with finding hope and motivation in these times of uncertainty.
Obviously there's been flirting involved, at first from his side, and once I started feeling more comfortable with him, my slightly flirty side surfaced. But it's not all there is, as we talk about pretty much everything, we support each other in reaching our goals (work/studies wise, health etc) and we provide emotional support to each other. Talking to him feels very natural, and I find myself automatically thinking of him now when I want to share something that happened to me during the day, either positive or negative. He recently told me that he liked me, but unfortunately we're currently unable to meet because of the distance and covid-related circumstances (we don't live very far from each other but our country is almost on lockdown and it's very difficult to travel from one city to another). However we already made plans to see each other as soon as things improve.
One day he mentioned that he used to use openers and techniques to talk to girls/seduce them when he was younger, the kind of stuff that self proclaimed dating gurus market as ultimate ways to get girls. So he would basically use the same lines with every girl he was interested in, in hopes to get her to like him. He said that it helped him overcome his shyness and insecurities at the time, but he said that looking back on it he now thinks that it's lame. We even laughed about some stories he shared of when those things went wrong. Understandably, I believed him when he said that it was a thing of the past. Today I randomly found out that he was following one of those dating fur on social media, and when I scoured that profile I saw that he liked quite a few posts there, the most recent one being about dating apps profiles, shared around a month and a half ago. I was quite disappointed because the way that influencecoach described dating was off-putting (closing the deal, selling your value, not being the nice guy, not showing that you're needy ...). He makes it seem as if it's a game and it goes against my principles and the way I see dating. This made me rethink our exchanges and our connection, and I'm wondering if it's all a game for him too. Although it doesn't feel like it's generic rehearsed stuff, and he seems to show genuine interest and care, he could well be good with it or maybe I'm too oblivious. Obviously I'm not considering something serious at this stage, as I'm only going with the flow, but I don't want to be played or used either, especially since I feel quite invested in our connection, and he seemed to be that way too. The time we spend talking to each other (throughout the whole day, and every night), the personal things we shared with one another, are already quite consequent. I also didn't expect this since he didn't act or come off as a player but rather as a "regular" simple guy looking to establish a meaningful connection.
Now I'm conflicted and I don't know what to think of it. Should I talk to him about it? Or should I take this as a red flag and just try to gradually move on? Or am I simply overreacting? Any input would be very helpful.

2020.09.22 22:45 DefaultDestino This is mostly for me to remind, but it may be usefull to you. Sorry for everything being so chaotic. :)

Hey! So I learned a lot because of you guys and wanted to do something back.

So i was thinking to myself, what should i do? Then i came up with this idea;
i would make a summary/story of everything i learned/did and i hope its also useful for you guys.

Preface: correct me if my there's a grammar mistake of a mistake please! there's a change some thoings are not summing up.
please let me know so i can correct it.

Lets's start!

Story;
At the moment i am 15 years old, when i was about 9, my dad introduced me to: The LOA (The Law of Attraction).
I was young and i understood some of it but i never did something with it, until this year.
It all started with the pandemic, -Covid 19. Oh yeah uhm, before that time (2019) I learned a lot about spirit guides and energy and way more!
Ok, so since Corona started here (Netherlands), i started seeing the numer 69 a LOT! so much that i started thinking it was kinda creepy,
i searched on Google; numerology 69, i was amazed and started crying, 3 months later a really toxic friendship ended.
since then i didn't see it anymore. Real summer vacation started. i swear... i didn't know i could learn so much in 4-6 weeks. i really can't describe it in words.
i just have grown so much! (spiritualy). i really learned a lot about the Law Of Attraction and energy and quantum phisics and quantum jumps, i started
listening to padcasts, read books, saw movies. i then started seeing 69 again, A LOT,i still see it like 8-10 times a day. I hope you're still reading because this story
actually sucks lol. anyway, i started meditating and here i am, writing this. i've learned so much in the past 1,5/2 years. it's amazing.
i have so much to tell you guys, but to type it all is a hard job. in my head/feelings i can say it all at once. weird feeling.

Kind of summary/tips;
Ok first i want to warn you... this story is going to be so chaotic and NOT ordered. also ill probably copy some other posts.
We are all 1. everything is energy. we are the universe.

first post is by u/Kaynos72, when you are angry at someone...
In reality you are angry at the reflection they give you of yourself. Think of this with the oneness perspective.
That person you see in front of you is you. When you look at them, you look at you. It's like looking in the mirror and not liking the angry face you make. You react to your own grimace.
It's the same for judgment. When you judge someone you judge yourself. You are not angry at the judgment but at the reflection of their judgement to you.
Thank you for this post, i loved it so much, but this is indeed true.

next post is by u/quantumhull
The universe is You! as i mentioned above, we are all 1, PS im listening to christmas music, love it.
Ever since you were a sperm cell, your being of light manifested, the "split," (cell division) or as they call it "duality" when conception happened.
When you die, you gain 360 degrees vision due to moving at the speed of light because your being of light exits your pineal gland and you then become one with the universe, your neural connections (YOUR BRAIN IS THE UNIVERSE BECOMING AWARE OF ITSELF) becomes enhanced.
You become God. You are ouroboros.
Every thought you have will bounce back through space and come right back to you. So start thinking positive!
You are the center of humanity. You are the consciousness.

next one by WAIT, i think i should start writing books, haha. uhm anyway u/notsofasthun (long story)
The key is to not try
The key is to believe what is for you will be yours effortlessly. What is for you can never miss you. As long as you believe you deserve it and it will come
Neville talks about this a lot. When you pray to God/your subconscious/your I amness/the universe you absolutely do have to believe it will be given to you, whatever you are asking for and it WILL be yours. Have FAITH that it is yours and let go. Don't try so hard. Your beliefs and your convictions manifest.
The only purpose of prayer is thanks giving. It is not to beg for something you don't have. It is being grateful for something you already posses
You have to have the utter conviction that what you want is already yours
Don't be so obsessed with techniques they are only merely tools to give you the unshakeable belief that you already have it. You can have anything you want in the universe if you saturate your mind with the utter conviction it is already yours. If you already believe you have what you desire that it is coming you do not need to script/affirm/spend HOURS doing SATS/watching YouTube videos on SP manifestation
I know it is hard to grasp but you only get what you believe you deserve. If you believe you absolutely do deserve what you are asking for that you are absolutely entitled to it, if you approach everything you desire with a sense of entitlement (there is no other way to explain the feeling) it absolutely will be yours.
"What is for you can never miss you"
"What is meant to be WILL happen"
So what did I manifest so far?
A 1 bedroom apartment right in the city where I want it location wise and I am paying less than 200 because I applied for government subsidy that people wait for 10 years to get but because I believed it was mine I manifested it fast.
Lots of money. My debts paid off. A new laptop. A bunch of other things and people places and things that don't matter because I have a new way of living now and know how to approach life and get what I want from it and how to get it. Happy manifesting. Believe it is yours and it is coming and watch how fast it comes.

Hi All!
Sorry for the absence and far too late post. I’ve been traveling Europe since I wrote my last post and have had a difficult time sitting down and writing an adequate post. With the ever-growing affects of COVID-19, unfortunately creating this post has been at the back of my mind. As I have solidified housing and living conditions here in Greece, I am able to come back on Reddit and assist everyone here in a way that you all deserve, especially those who have followed me for so many years and patiently waited for my return. To all that have been angered or annoyed by my late return, I truly apologize and wish this and future posts make up for my absence.
To begin, I’d like to make one thing clear: I have never used anything but Neville’s techniques in the realization of my Earthly desires. More specifically, I have only used the technique of sensory vividness and enactment of scenes. Unfortunately, by beginning my post with that, I fear that I will turn away many people that have either tried this technique and failed or believe they do not contain the ability to “visualize” in the way Neville teaches. Because of this restriction, I’d like to make a few things clear:
I don’t believe in the over complication of concepts this subreddit and some members of this subreddit have created over the past few years. If you were here when I originally began posting in late 2017, you - like myself - notice a stark difference in the terms and techniques people peddle here. It may work for few, but I believe the simple technique that Neville taught work for all.
Some question how this process works, or what is necessary to gain results. I’ll tell you exactly what and how results are achieved, and it’s painfully simple: total self-persuasion. You must completely believe that you have what you desire and that it is a reality now. Many people will look at that prerequisite to attaining your Earthly desires as the largest obstacle known to mankind, but I’d like to soothe your worries. I’ve said this before, but I’ll give it a greater emphasis now: Self-persuasion is a gift from God if you DO the technique.
Sin is defined as not attaining your goals, not being the man/woman you want to be. The only way you could ever sin is if you do not believe you are the person you want to be right now.
I don’t believe in any other technique or “interpretation” of Neville’s techniques other than the one I outline in this post. That’s for one simple reason, I truly believe that for the majority of people, you are not able to complete the one requirement (self-persuasion) with these other techniques, be it saying a phrase to yourself as you fall asleep or thinking about the person you want to be a few moments during the day. This may have worked for Neville or few people in his case histories, but that is only because they have years and years (in many cases, decades) of success with The Law that they have unwavering faith in it’s pervasiveness and power.
I am going to tell you what has worked for me, if you have another technique that works for you, congrats! But for most people, this original technique that Neville shared is one that I believe the majority of people will find success with.
It has never taken longer than 2 weeks from starting the technique for a certain goal for me to see the start of harvest, and no longer than ONE MONTH total to see full-realization of a goal. I have had countless times where it has taken less than 12 hours to see the full realization of a goal, of which the majority of that time is time that I slept.
It may sound counter intuitive, but STOP reading Neville, listening to Neville or visiting this subreddit after you read this post! I fear that many keep being a hearer of the law in an attempt to find some magic end-all technique and never actually PRACTICE the law. Like Neville has said countless times, actual practice benefits you far more that hearing ever will! Yes, the law is as simple as it seems, don’t over complicate it!
Now on to the simple and perfect technique:
Know exactly what you want. Not a general idea, but something specific and exact that perfectly reflects your true desire. If you want your dream body, know what it will look like; if you want a certain sum of money, know how much down to the dollar; if you want a partner, know who you want; if you want a certain job, know exactly what you would do and where you would work; etc.
Ask yourself what you would be feeling if you were who you want to be RIGHT NOW. By “feeling” it is meant an innate level of awareness. Where would your mind be if you were the person you wanted to be? How would you think in relation to the world in your new state?
Create a scene that would IMPLY that you have already achieved your goal and that it is in the past. Something that you can add sensory vividness and tones of reality to.
Get ready for bed before the time you usually become sleepy and get ready to induce a sleepy state. Lie in your bed and calm yourself. Many years ago I suggested that you put your hands underneath your butt to focus on something to induce this state, but practice has taught me that, personally, I can get in a drowsy state best by lying down in a fetal position. If you have not been successful in using this technique, I suggest putting yourself in a position where you do not usually fall asleep in (for example, if you usually fall asleep by sleeping on your left side, lie on your back, and vice versa.)
As you induce this sleepy state, you’ll notice a floating feeling, one that is both physical and mental. Keep your mind clear, but do not become so drowsy that you fall asleep. Something that I’ve noticed while applying this law throughout the years is I feel that can I just imagine random things to get into a drowsy state to begin my scene - THIS IS A TRAP! And more likely than not, you do this every night and it is a habit of yours. For me, whenever I do this I always fall asleep before I can even think to begin my scene. DO NOT BECOME DISTRACTED. Calm yourself with the intent of doing your scene and do not let your mind wonder on other things.
Begin enacting your scene, and begin enacting it in FIRST PERSON. While it will not be as vivid as the room you are in now, it does not matter. Yes, you heard me right, your scene does not need to become as vivid as the life you are living right now to become a reality. Continue enacting your scene and focus on a new detail each time you loop it. If you cannot add tones of reality and sensory vividness in the beginning, use a trick I’ve used in the past: Tell yourself what your seeing is real, narrate what is in front of you and what you are touching AND FEEL THAT IT IS TRUE AND REAL. There is no way I can explain the “feeling” other than pretending that what you are imaging right now is real. Just try it! Don’t worry about if you’re applying it right, just imagine that it IS true. Just “think” that you are seeing what you want to see.
Keep yourself in this scene and do not worry about anything else. Remain faithful to this scene by repeating it over and over. Soon, you will actually feel as if you are in the place your imagine, and eventually, you will fall asleep in that state. If you worry about not being able to fall asleep or think about how alert you are, you will stay alert and unable to fall asleep. FOCUS on the scene and making it as real as possible.
If you kept the scene repeating and legitimately tried adding as much sensory vividness as possible, you should wake up with a feeling that “it is done”, this is the gift from God I was speaking about earlier. If you do not have this feeling, imagine that you do and continue the process the next night. Experience has taught me, however, that if you legitimately try the technique to the best of your abilities, you WILL wake up with this feeling of your desire already existing.
This is the technique that I employ, and as of late, I have never woken up without the feeling that it is done. The most important thing is to TRY! Continually try and try to do the best that you can. Don’t worry about reading Neville during the day in fear that you have missed something. Just do the technique at night and be amazed at how quickly your world changes!
As always, please give me questions down below and I will try to answer them as soon as possible. I will also create a post of all of my notable successes soon (including creating a white-label health and wellness business here in Greece and making at least $25,000 a month even with COVID-19 impacting business here, I’m on track to personally profit $45,000 this month, and I expect even higher profits once I can open physical locations.) Remember, you are God, which makes you the operant power. You need to USE your power in order to succeed. Stop worrying that you’re missing something and JUST USE IT.

Yes, you read that right!
Manifesting is easy - probably the easiest thing ever.
Many of us try to manifest xyz and end up stressing over which technique, whether it’s working or not and just stress and stress and stress! That’s funny to me though, we are god which means we have been manifesting our entire lives. We didn’t need techniques or anything when we weren’t aware of our true power - it all just happened.
But now that we are aware of this power, we want to use it right - to manifest our SP, a dream job and everything! I mean if we are gods why shouldn’t we live like one and get everything we can possibly ever dream of right?
I too wanted the dream life. I was at the lowest point in my life. I had turned into this insecure, ugly, rude person - obviously because my mind created it. I was going through a lot of physical changes and first relied on medicine to help me but I never really changed my mindset. I always felt bad despite all the efforts I was taking to go back to the being the true beautiful me.
I then read the secret one day and realized I created this for me and I was the only person that could undo do. I read and read and read. Tried to up my vibration until I gave up because I just couldn’t be happy all the time.
I then came across Neville and deeply resonated with his work. However, I was still not getting any results. I wanted clear skin, a define face and long thick hair and nothing was working. I was living in the end, visualizing, affirming. WHY WHY WHY?
I would constantly read success stories to try to figure out what other people did. This only made it worse because everyone did something different but still ended up manifesting. One person obsessed over it and got it while the other totally gave up on it. So like what do I do now?
I finally came across a blog - I AM LOVE.CO. A huge shoutout to them. They have the most beautiful articles which is the only reason why I manifested everything I wanted and continue to manifest everything I want because they showed me my true power.
They taught me manifesting has no rules. YES NO RULES. NO PROCESS. NOTHING. We create our own rules. Which is why some people manifest by obsessing and some by letting go because that’s the rule they created for themselves.
So like I said, I tried creating my own rule, living in the end, doing everything but it didn’t work. WHY? because I thought IF I DO THIS I WILL GET MY DESIRE. Read that again. GET MY DESIRE. Which is where I went wrong.
I want you to understand one thing. We are god. The moment we want something it is done. I am not talking about in a different reality or anything. No. Right now in this 3D world it is done. I don’t need to wait for my imagination to project it out. Nope, it’s done.
So now that I have my desire, I can do anything. Why? Because it’s done. I can visualize, live my life, obsess about how I have it, anything because if it’s already done then why can’t I do what I want to? All these techniques that we learn aren’t to help us get our manifestation. They are there to remind us that we already have it!
THE ONLY TECHNIQUE TO MANIFEST IS KNOWING THAT ITS DONE!
The moment I did that I manifested everything I wanted in less than a month. I cleared my skin up and got my desire face structure in a week and my long thick amazing hair in less than a month.
When I first started learning about manifesting, I thought I wasn’t allowed to be anything but happy or calm - which ended up stressing me out even more. Worrying and feeling bad is normal - which is why I’m saying please feel bad. Please feel all emotions. I can assure you many people have manifested even while feeling bad and in anger just because they knew their desire was theirs! Of course, this should not be how you choose to approach this, feeling happy and manifesting feels better but its definitely not a requirement unless you choose to make it one. It’s okay to feel bad and insecure at times. Acknowledge it. Don’t run away. It will go away on its own and soon you will be happy. Be your true self and relax. Nothing God does can be wrong.
All i’m saying is work according to your belief system. You literally have been creating your own rules your whole life. I’m pretty sure you didn’t do mental diets and feel it real before you knew how to consciously manifest but you still manifested with ease. All these techniques are wonderful but I think it’s important to go back and check what’s worked for you. For example, when you were doing well financially, what were your thoughts, feelings, actions and go according to that not what everyone else is teaching you to do. You probably just knew it was going well and didn’t even care about it, and even if you thought “what If I lose it all one day” you probably would have brushed it off knowing you’re rich. So stop beating yourself up.You know yourself better than anyone else does. For me personally, I cleared my skin up because I realized I had the best skin when I couldn’t care less about it. The more I tried to clear it, the worse it got but I have a friend who has the best skin only when she obsesses over how amazing her skin is. Everyone has their own approach to say “it’s done”.
Stop looking for techniques and success stories. You are the success story. Your manifestation is done right now in this 3D world. Life is easy. You don’t need to wake up and act anymore. You don’t need to force yourself to script or visualize. If you want to feel bad, go ahead . IT IS DONE! You are living in the end. You don’t need to become a particular state to be in the end when you already are in it.
Edit - I see many people are agreeing with the whole “It’s done!” concept but not with the feel bad, feel insecure one. Let me explain myself better. We all go through things. We all want them to improve. We all want to manifest change the moment something goes wrong. All I’m trying to say is the moment something goes wrong you don’t need to feel happy and be ecstatic so you can change your situation through manifestation. Please please acknowledge your feelings and allow them to flow. I want each one of you to be happy and content with life which is why i’m asking you not to suppress. Once you let it all flow, you will reach that state of constant happiness and relief that we are always looking for. I truly don’t believe sadness or anything really can ‘cancel’ a manifestation. Please be happy and let things flow!
As creators we have been gifted with the power to feel all emotions for a reason. I personally don’t like to label any emotions as good or bad. I do know we are all trying to reach the level where everything’s perfect, we’re happy and we manifest super fast but ignoring any emotions is never going to get you there! Acknowledge, don’t resist!
Also, I mentioned the I Am- Love blog because it helped me and I want it to help everyone too. I am not promoting private coaching!
I understand my method seems to contradict conventional manifestation approaches but I’m asking you to please forget all laws and just live your life. Life was easy before you learnt about all this. Please go easy on yourself. Your only take away from this should be to show you your true power not to give you a bunch of rules of what to do and how to live now. Let’s make life easy <3

So this is not huge but it worked over night!! Basically, a couple days ago I read a post that mentioned the whispering technique of manifesting - where you visualize someone and tell them what you want them to do.
So there is this boy I met a couple months ago before I moved states. We hung out a few times and we really clicked. We have each other's Instagram. I thought about him suddenly and I really wanted him to text me.
Last night before sleeping, I visualized him very clearly and whispered out loud "DM me on Instagram, tell me you miss me" and it felt like I was actually talking to him. Today he replied to my story saying he misses me and he wants to send me plane tickets to fly me out. I got so fckin excited by how quickly this worked

u/sycamore98
I am sure most of you know these already, but I know there are some on here that don’t.
All you need to do is determine what you want and get into the wish-fulfilled, and persist in the new state of mind that implies that you already have what you want.
Keep these simple steps in mind and don’t over-complicate it:
  1. You don’t need to go back into the past to identify “subconscious blocks”. Simple revision is fine. Persisting in a new state is enough to overwrite those old beliefs. You don’t need to listen to 12 hours of “Subconscious Reprogramming Subliminals” every night.
  2. You don’t have to determine if you “deserve” it.
  3. God isn’t making you learn “lessons” in life in order to get what you want (as spiritualists like to preach). Yes, you live and learn, but learning lessons isn’t needed to manifest something that you want.
  4. You’re not being “tested” by God to see if you’re worthy. You are God.
  5. Repeating numbers are not confirmations.
  6. You don’t have to ask for signs, simply persist in the end result, believe it is done. Signs that you ask for are only manifestations of their own. They have no correlation to what you’re actually trying to manifest. Sometimes your subconscious will push something out to encourage you to stay on track and this is perfectly fine.
  7. You only have to act as if in the 4D (your mind). Just persist in a new state of having it now.
  8. Don’t overthink the 3D world and the outside. If your outside world looks negative even though you have been affirming the positive that you want, the negatives are simply past manifestations finishing out. Acknowledge your feelings if it makes you emotional, then get back on track. Your new state will eventually reflect once the past manifestations are finished. Just persist.
  9. There is no “trying”.
Manifesting isn’t something you “start doing”; we are manifesting every second. There is no “manifesting muscle”. You’re just beginning to use it the way you want, consciously, once you become aware of your power.

You are so Infinite, so Whole and so Powerful that you even have the power to believe you aren't any of those.
That's it. So it is not about the next thing, the next meditation, the next book or the next info. It's not about adding anything.
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
Rumi
It is about relaxing into your Infinite Self. Trusting, Releasing and Letting Go.
You are already what you seek, the reason why you don't see it is because you don't believe it.
To the extent you Let Go, to the extent you Fly.

u/rajeshgangwar
Just remember, the day you plant the seed is not the same day you eat the fruit. Be patient as you wait for your blessings to manifest.

We become what we think.
We think in words and we live our life by those words.
If you think negative thoughts all the time, then your whole life will turn negative.
That’s why it’s critical that you change all of your negative thoughts to positive thoughts.
If you observe negative people you will soon realize that almost all of the words that come from their mouths are negative.
That means they think negative words constantly. They feel bad because they are constantly negative.
Even if they try to do something positive, things just always tend to turn out negative for them.
That’s why you must start thinking positive thoughts if you want to start attracting positive things.
That’s how the law of attraction works or at least that how it has always worked for me.
I can’t and I won’t teach you things that I have not personally used.
I can only tell how the law of attraction has worked for me and I hope you can implement my success into your life.
Here is how I have used the law of attraction to attract more health, wealth, love and happiness into my life…
STEP 1
The first thing I did was I stopped listening to the news. The majority of the news is almost always negative.
Humans are drawn to negativity because when we evolved we had to pay attention to all the bad and negative things so we wouldn’t die.
For example, if someone had died after eating a berry, we had to know what happened so we wouldn’t make the same mistake.
The news channels feed off our negativity bias because they know that they will get more eyeballs with negativity.
They don’t care how negative thinking destroys our dreams and hopes. They just want the money.
STEP 2
The second thing I did was I Googled photos of my goals and printed them on my wall.
For example, I printed a picture of my soulmate. It took one year to manifest my soulmate and she looked exactly the same as in the photo that I used to manifest her.
In the picture that I printed, my soulmate had brown hair and she was standing in front of a bookshelf.
Well, my soulmate has brown hair and she has a lot of bookshelves in her home.
I also imagined that my soulmate would be Sagittarius or Leo because I’m Aquarius and I get really well with those two horoscopes.
Well, it turns out that my soulmate is Sagittarius…
STEP 3
The next thing I did was write down my goals.
The idea is that you write down all of your goals as precisely as you can.
You have to be incredibly precise because if you are not precise, then you will attract random things into your life.
For example, I imagined my soulmate in front of a bookshelf because I like reading science books and I would like to discuss and read science books with my soulmate.
But I never wrote down what kind of books my soulmate liked to read, I just wrote that she likes to read.
So it turns out that she reads a lot of manga, not science books!
If you want something specific, be really specific!
STEP 4
After completing all the steps the last thing I did was believe.
This final step is crucial.
You have to believe that you are going to live your dream life.
The world will try to test you but you must not give up.
You have to keep believing because that is the only way.
You have to take a leap of fate.
I hope that my story and these tips will inspire you to take action!
Start manifesting your dream life today with these positive affirmations, I believe in you 100%!
Smiles & Hugs,

Everyone talks as if their "Goal" doesn't already exist.
You don't have to manifest it, it already exists.
You don't have to create it, it already exists.
You don't have to try to get it, it already exists.
They think the physical reality, is reality.
No, its nothing but a projection of the frequency/ energy you're vibrating at and tuned into.
The only reality is the frequency/energy you're in.
The fundamental mistake of trying to get it, manifest it or create it locks you into the frequency of it not existing.
Which is then reflected in the physical projection as an experience of you not having it.
Tune into your desired energy (reality) and it will naturally be reflected in the physical projection. It already exists.

Hey, Y'all!
After writing a post on How To Use Law of Attraction in 4 Steps I have received a lot of comments.
Thanks for everyone who read and commented on my post, and thanks for the creator of this great community!
I received a lot of questions about negative thoughts and how to get rid of negative thoughts.
Some people said that they have only negative thoughts, so inspired by you guys I decided to write this post on how to change your thinking pattern from negative thoughts to positive thoughts.
I have had negative thoughts all my life but in the last four years, my life has changed from really bad thoughts to only positive thoughts.
I know how it feels to have negative thoughts...
Four years ago I started reading a lot of science books and they helped me to understand how to change thinking patterns.
These days I only think about positive things and It gives me sooo much energy it's unbelievable.
The truth is, if you are struggling to think positive thoughts, you lack self-love.
If you are ready to think more positively then keep reading:)
How To Start Thinking Only Positive Thoughts
If you have a lot of negative thoughts, the problem is that you are being too hard on yourself, you are lacking self-love.
The majority of people are being too hard on themselves.
Media and social media constantly makes us feel that we are not enough.
When we think we are not enough we tend to start being too hard on ourselves.
We constantly judge ourselves until it becomes a habit.
When I'm talking about judging ourselves, I don't mean self-analysis.
Self-analysis is great and as Socrates always used to say "Know thyself". When we make a mistake we should always analyze what went wrong and why.
However, a lot of people don't analyze their actions, they analyze their whole being and instantly start bashing themselves.
So to be clear, when I'm talking about judging ourselves, I mean that some of us got a habit of using negative words towards ourselves.
That is not self-love. If you are not in the habit of loving yourself, then that is the obstacle that you must overcome, in order to start thinking more positively.
The famous investor, Charlie Munger says; "The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."
This quote means that habits are easy to create but extremely hard to get rid of.
If you are in the habit of judging yourself and being too hard on yourself then you must act now in order to stop it.
Being hard on yourself does more damage to you than you could ever imagine.
If you want to think only positive thoughts, you must learn to love yourself.
Self-love is like riding a car. It's a skill that can be taught.
Remember when you first started learning to ride a car? I bet you sucked at it, just like me and everyone else.
The same goes for self-love, it's a skill that you must learn in order to be more positive and happier.
When you are truly happy your vibration frequency will raise and you will start to attract more positivity in your life.
I want to help you to break the chains of habit and I want to help you to love yourself.
Life is beautiful and you are beautiful.
There is no need to be too hard on yourself.
The first part of changing one's habits is to realize when you are being too hard on yourself.
Start listening to your inner voice.
What do you say to yourself when you put on weight?
What do you say to yourself when you get scolded by your boss?
What do you say to yourself when you feel lazy?
What do you say to yourself when you make a mistake?
What do you say to yourself when you get angry?
What do you say to yourself when you wake up and look in the mirror?
Are you still loving yourself or are you judging yourself?
If you judge yourself then keep reading because this post will help you!
Now the first thing you must do in order to start loving yourself more is to be aware when your inner voice is judging you.
You have to observe yourself and your inner voice throughout the day.
When you find yourself judging and being too hard on yourself I want you to do this...
Replace those old habits of you judging yourself with new more positive habits.
For example, if you made a mistake at work, don't be too hard on yourself, everybody makes mistakes.
Instead of thinking "Oh I'm so stupid I made this mistake, I'm sorry oh I'm so stupid."
Replace those negative thoughts with self-love affirmations like "Everybody mistakes. It's not that big of a deal. I choose to stop apologizing for being me. I release all the negative self-talk because I love the person I am becoming."
So in other words, after you have identified the events that trigger the negative self-talking you need to change that old negative habit with a positive habit.
Change your negative self-talk to positive self-talk.
Remember that we think in words and we live our life by those words.
So if you use negative words towards yourself constantly, you can never truly love yourself until you fix that bad habit.
Now, after you have replaced the old bad habit with a new positive habit, you need to reward yourself.
Our brain has an algorithm: “Repeat behavior that works.” Rewards release dopamine in our brains and dopamine is a neurotransmitter that makes us feel good.
So after we have changed the bad habit to good habit, we instantly have to reward ourselves so our brain gets a signal that "Aha! Positive self-talk makes us feel good. We should do this more often!"
When you combine the reward system and our brains' natural tendency to “Repeat behavior that works” you will have an incredibly powerful combination.
When you create a rewarding loop like this, you can change your bad habits into good habits in no time!
To create this kind of habit loop, you have to identify the Cue, then you have to change the Routine & after you have changed the routine you have to Reward yourself.
If you are not loving yourself, it's all because you have a bad habit of bashing yourself. You have a habit of thinking negatively about yourself.
You have to break that cycle and the best way to do so is to create this kind of habit loop:
Everything starts with the cue. You have to identify the event that causes you to start negative-self talk.
After you have identified your cue, you have to change your old routine to a better one.
This final stage is important. You have a reward yourself in order to create a long-lasting change.
This strategy will help you to love yourself more.
Remember that this is what I have learned and what I have used to change my bad habits into positive habits. I have personally used this method to cut down all the negative thoughts.
Here is a list of the self-love affirmations that you can use every time you start talking negatively to yourself.
Self-love is incredibly important and I hope that this post will help you in your journey.
Smiles & Hugs,

Importance of data security in healthcare
These days, data is apparently the establishment of a couple of organizations making sense of how to plan for an all the more genuine, data set up coherent structures that fixation concerning the more significant understanding of numbers and authentic examples with respect to examine. Clinical Research has transforming into a shooting field of study and business, in light of the contrasted needs of the people in the field of medicine and clinical data the heads systems are progressively transforming into the point of convergence of this insightful zone.

As one of the solicitations of clinical investigation and clinical fundamentals is to be accustomed and familiar with the chance of clinical data the heads and having authority of data will make you a noteworthy asset in your workplace, especially if it goes under medication associations and clinical assessment. As the world developments to a more modernized, data subordinate technique for concentrate similarly as work we begin considering about what unequivocally goes under the term clinical data the board, and what a Clinical data the heads system contains?
Clinical Data Management
As clinical assessment requires a great deal of clinical human fundamentals, they end up with a ton of data and clinical data administrators are the ones who cycle, accumulate and manage the data they get subject to the primers. It is a critical capacity in clinical investigation as without real organization of data there could be grave slips up made on account of nonappearance of fitting data getting ready. As the clinical and medication industry needs to fulfill higher requirements of creation reliably, data the board has become a fundamental bit of clinical assessment, and is in like manner transforming into an obligatory need as coordinating masters envision first rate things for the clinical field. There are different kinds of clinical data the board, for instance, electronic prosperity records, overseer data, patient and affliction history, reviews relating to prosperity and clinical starters data. Clinical fundamentals data requires a ton of the load up as they are meds and medication that will be figured out how to the general populace and we'll as crisis centers for at some point later. This is a significant need stage in clinical investigation and prompts the development of data that is incredibly qualified, really exhibited and attempted.
Since we've seen what clinical data the board is, we can continue forward to getting to know its most huge gadget which is a clinical data the chief's system.
Clinical Data Management Systems
This is an application used to accomplish, quantify and manage data in the fundamentals during clinical assessment. These systems exist as a technique for ensuring that data combination occurs with unimportant or zero mix-ups that may occur during the primers. For this to be done, clinical data bosses use different systems for affirming the data they have assembled. They can do this utilizing diverse clinical fundamental organization systems, which contains programming that has been framed and attempted by biotechnological and drug associations.
This system proceeds with the data that has been assembled and is proposed and accepts accountability for sifting through, working and uncovering the examination they start from data combination. This furthermore consolidates the information gave by people from the human primers, fulfilling tasks in due time and achieving destinations they have set for the development of drug subject to the data the load up. There are different kinds of systems, two of which are the most observable and regularly used they are the paper based structures and the electronic data based structures, the paper systems include data arrangement that is done by hand, not exactly and is later changed over and passed on into the clinical data the chiefs structure. On the other hand in the electronic system for variety the data is put speedily into the structure as opposed to having a record that is really kept by the affiliation.

2020.09.22 07:02 VictoryInFlow How I Help Intelligent but Deeply-Pained INTPs *FINALLY* Rapidly Progress toward Living their Dream Lives! >>LONG POST<<

I help intelligent but deeply pained INTPs finally become winners who enjoy executing efficient plans to achieve their dream lives from states of increasing harmony, flow, joy, bliss, and ease.

Why do INTPs tend to have high IQ levels, but lower income & less life satisfaction compared to most MBTI types?

I'd elaborate on that in great detail, but most of you seem pretty self-aware as to why that is. But in short, these seem to be some of the top issues (directly related to the question at hand):
just to name a few.
Also, you're an NT-- and as many will point out, we live in an SF society. Whether you agree with that or not (I tend to, generally, to an extent...)
So many of you have so much to offer-- perhaps the most to offer in terms of accuracy and just being able to see what is TRUE in the situation-- so it's a waste that INTPs can sometimes get stuck working under management and leadership hierarchies which often prevent the INTP person from really shining in that environment. You might know that on some level you want to live a different life, but executing on it is a completely different animal if you even get started, which for many INTPs, seems just overwhelming.

What types of pain does this cause down the line?

Okay, so what do we do about it?

I have found it useful to address these problems on multiple levels:
  1. We dig deep and gain clarity on who you really are, in multiple phases of the growth process, to assure we're working with who you really are as a person at the deepest level and purge all of the incorrect beliefs society and the world around us installs (something so many of us actually ignore).
  2. Using proven techniques to completely change what the mind does automatically, without you thinking about it (yeah, your mind just having free reign can be a pretty big pain in the ass, huh? haha! Yeah, this totally helps*). And* YES, when we CHANGE THIS, do NOT UNDERESTIMATE how powerful that is! After all, if you were to write down a list of all of your thoughts in the last week, how, uh... helpful were they in helping you directly solve your life goals? ... ... exactly. The crazy thing is (and I'm surprised more people haven't figured this out yet) YOU CAN change that after all. Sure maybe "you" have a lot of problems, but a version of yourself we can systematically engineer no longer does!
  3. On a deeper level, although we can change what the mind does to a large extent--- it's even more powerful to learn how to be totally unaffected by the mind to see beyond that programming (conscious and unconscious-- which is what you are experiencing now). Although this is something I've wanted to do for a long time, it took me at least SIX YEARS OF PAIN (and this is a special interest to me too!) after trying all kinds of meditation and yoga (and frankly giving up a lot because so much of what I tried did not work) to finally get to the breakthrough which shows me how anyone can accomplish this.
  4. Specifically we can and will systematically engineer desire and motivation where you have none using proven techniques.
  5. Because you now ARE someone who ENJOYS what you are doing and HAS the character traits necessary to do things... you don't have to FORCE yourself to do hard work anymore--- especially if you are (a) doing what you now realize you love / (b) systematically, using techniques I can teach and guide you with, increasingly learn how to enjoy and love everything else you need to do / become to complete your goals.
  6. **NOT ALL PLANS ARE EQUAL. NOT ALL STRATEGIES ARE GOOD. NOT ALL BUSINESS IDEAS EVEN WORK! Few of these strategies work as EFFECIENTLY as YOURS SHOULD!**It's been a pet peeve of mine to see people perusing entire life strategies based off of things that really don't contribute to their goals as easily or as efficiently as they could. For example, there are a number of high income skillsets which are relatively simple to acquire but which most people won't do. There are many business models which have very high ROI people aren't interested in. And for SOME reason (this will also apply-- that's right... to YOU, INTP perfectionist!) people decide to spend all kinds of time and energy on things which don't actually contribute to the goal correctly when they work on something. I systematically work with MY clients to IDENTIFY what those things are and within the systematic frameworks I use... and the lists of high-output / low-input skills and strategies I've compiled over the years... I make sure the clients I help \are* focusing on the right actions and have the right knowledge to be *ARMED* effectively with what the best opportunities are to get to their goals most efficiently\.* Areas I have additional specialized expertise in ( include:
    1. various entrepreneurial business models (especially solo-entrepreneurships for true introverts who are interested)
    2. the strengths / weaknesses of various marketing strategies, and simple rules few people seem to be aware of to make it big
    3. sales strategies which are likely to (a) be far more effective than most (b) harmonize with your personality type, based on the context of whatever you'd like to create
    4. things to do with PRACTICAL dating / relationship psychology as a MALE interested in females (for the ~2/3 of INTPs who happen to be male) which are not, well... \*common* * knowledge* --- For females, a lot of the same things could apply, but for a lot of you, it's going to be a lot easier than for your male counterparts! ;) -- the way I see it, what's life without being able to have a good love life as well? I may not be some Casanova (with like a 500+ notch count; I think that would kill me!), but I USED TO to be entirely socially inept when it came to relationships, and now I've done pretty well for myself (worrying about bringing attractive females in my life, as someone interested in them, isn't really a problem anymore)--- so get more "bang" (LITERALLY 😉***) for your buck here if you care about this!!*** -- That being said, upon deeper introspection & awareness of what I've learned, you might choose to make it less of a focus... all up to you.
    5. Even if you are working in a different area... the fact that I have learned patterns which create incredible results in certain fields also helps me figure out patterns which are likely to figure out success in other fields-- which means, especially when working with a client, we can formulate a mastermind and combine this information to determine what are these home run strategies which give you the 1% RESULTS in YOUR area of interest?
  7. Because this can also be a serious issue for INTPs, we will ORGANIZE in a way which is ENGINEERED to create success with the type of plan which is right for you. Different methods and different ways of laying out information are going to be more useful for certain types of plans. After years of dealing with ADHD hell, I've finally figured out how to organize the chaos of the world into something which is pretty much always functional even within utter external chaos-- and for those whose plans and goals have more definite requirements (clear and obvious in terms of how long each major step takes etc), we would use an entirely different set of tools. But your brain is still going everywhere-- every which way, and considering everything, to an extent, even when we learn to retrain its focus. This is something we can harness this and use it to your advantage, and I've got that covered.
  8. Uncommon sense health for the 21st century. So, doctors really don't seem to be able to help EVERYONE ALL THE TIME with ALL of their health issues, physical, and mental, do they? This certainly wasn't the case in my life--- and when one looks at the literature on INTPs and how many are unhappy and turbulent, this shows me there is a lot to get done. I've suffered from serious neurological issues and learned an extremely large list strategies to both (a) increase mental focus / clarity or reduce anxiety in ways which are harmonious with the rest of the body (I've taken the supplements... tested the diets... tested the herbs) in terms of short-term "band-aid" type solutions you could use the rest of your life if you wanted (b) for the long-term, I believe I may have discovered some of the root causes which could be going unrecognized in our modern world of issues which could disproportionately affect INTPs. Really the health tips I'm talking about in (a) should help everyone, but for those who want a more long-term roadmap, the things I am talking about in (b) provide plenty of options, ways to potentially identify things which could be real physiological issues and seem psychological on the surface. Either way, what I have noticed is WE CAN still attack these problems from ALL angles and whatever the "root cause" might be, it is possible to make much more of a difference than you believe currently.
  9. ACCOUNTABILITY-- Don't think you're disciplined enough to take a plan and execute on your own? I'll keep you accountable and provide you with the philosophical understanding which allowed me to move from my apathy / sense of futility to the determination which will empower you to create what you desire.
  10. That's pretty much it for WHAT we're going to do... but the HOW it's good for you to know is that this is designed to be a VERY enjoyable FLOW BASED process that builds natural momentum and helps you enjoy the process of becoming the person your "higher" (long-term-desire over short-term-desire focused) self would like to be! And know something else? It's all very personal and individualized-- although I could show you (almost) exactly everything I've done... it's going to work much better when we match my techniques to what really lights you up--- and I've got this down to a systematic enough level, it'll be abundantly clear on exactly how to implement that. And the way it works... sometimes it might even feel like magic.
  11. One thing this work has confirmed on a deeper level for me is... there is a very profound aspect of our unseen reality which actually DOES affect our lives in ways that most scientists aren't talking about-- in ways you AREN'T going to be learning in school. You don't have to believe me... I know the methods I use work on a psychological level--- but there are those who think they can also work on the level of, say, controlling coincidences in the worlds around us. If you have heard someone talk about, for example, "The Law of Attraction" or "The Secret", those might be watered-down understandings (not entirely "complete" or fully applicable on their own) of very strange aspects of our reality which I happen to believe (for GOOD reason based on EXPERIENCE) DO exist! (personally, my only questions are on the more specific practical details and the whole cosmology of it all... 10/10 "weird" phenomena, however... CONFIRMED!) ---- That being said, I am not going to make any promises about THIS area just yet. However, if you've ever been curious about those topics, the modalities I teach and work with harmonize quite well with what others attempt to practice using metaphysics--- but I try to come at this first and foremost from the perspective of your psychology-- and if the metaphysical aspects work for you, that's great too! There is definitely sufficient evidence for what I teach, coach, and guide clients with on the psychological side already. I'm going to avoid making promises in this other area, but it is likely an aspect of how and why the type of work I do tends to be helpful for so many people in strange ways which leave them scratching their heads-- "Wth!? I can't believe reality is this weird!! o__o" ~ ... Welcome to my life... ;) But it can be very fun and interesting, I promise!

And when I finish working with you or succeed in my goals, what then? What's that like?

At the end of the day...
When I see INTPs... I see a lot of incredibly smart people who the world could use way more insight from, particularly their most-empowered-and-healthy-(mind/body/"spirit")-possible selves. I looked at the world and said, "Hey, this could use quite a bit more more Ti (logical accuracy) and insight into much better paths it's not walking yet (Ne)" ... and I realized I have just what it takes to do that... because I managed to overcome so many of these INTP-related problems myself and... I love it. You can have that too!
Want help?

Send me a DM and let's see what we can do. :)

But, major rule: this stuff is powerful so make sure it is only used for good!!! <<<< You must promise!

Nowadays, many people prefer to exercise during travel, whether they’re vacationing or on a business trip. Many of them are quite critical about their workout environment as well.
According to a Hotels.com survey, 44% of people are willing to pay extra for a hotel that offers a gym. Another research by TripAdvisor found 52% of people preferring hotel gyms for holiday exercise. As a result, many hotels working on improving the fitness facilities and programs offered at their locations.
An innovative gym adds extra appeal to your hotel, attracting more clients. Offering your guests such perks during their stay is a great way to make your business successful. Now that people have started to spend more on gym memberships, it’s a good sign that guests will appreciate and use the one at your facility.
As of now, there’s still a sharp increase in the availability of exercise opportunities and equipment in hotels. Hilton Hotels have even gone as far as providing gym equipment in guest rooms. This makes it clear that you will have to meet the highest standards for providing fitness-related services.
Knowing where to start when installing or upgrading your gym equipment can be challenging. You need to make sure you set up a workout space that gives you a competitive advantage while being safe and convenient for your guests. In the following sections, we have some valuable tips to help you in the process.

2. What Do Guests Look for in Hotel Gym Equipment?

Extra facilities are an important factor in the success of any hotel business. Modern lodging isn’t just about a bed to sleep in anymore, with top chains setting high entertainment, recreation, cuisine, and comfort standards. Fully equipped gyms are also the new norm in popular hotels. Below you’ll find out about the type of fitness equipment hotel guests expect from you.
One of the basic requirements of gym users is space. Instead of filling up the whole area with bulky equipment, choose the kind that leaves some free space to enable exercisers to work out without getting in each other’s way. You’ll also need to ensure your equipment is kept clean at all times – you don’t need to drive away customers because your gym lacks hygiene!
Nowadays, gymming isn’t just about using a treadmill and lifting some weights. There’s a wide range of exercises and fitness programs that require different gym machines and accessories. You’ll have to keep up with the latest workout trends to make your fitness center useful for your guests.
Just the basic tech-friendly features can make your equipment a lot more impressive. For instance, gym machines and treadmills that sync with workout apps and smartwatches like Fitbit can be enough to keep your guests engaged and motivated.

3. Space Planning with Gym Equipment

With the high standards set by top hotel chains for on-site gyms, people’s expectations have also increased. They are used to feeling secure and comfortable and having access to luxuries they normally don’t enjoy. Therefore, it is essential to plan your fitness center in a way that adds to your overall image instead of causing annoyance or injuries to the users.
While mapping out your gym space, make a practical floor plan to use the available space wisely. We also recommend including a balanced amount of aerobic and strength equipment.

4. What to Consider When Installing Gym Equipment

4.1 Distance
A lot of equipment crammed into your gym space can make users feel uncomfortable. Avoid crowding and leave enough space between equipment to allow your guests to work out in relative privacy. Clear a path all around the gym that leads to the entrance, so that users can look at everything it has to offer.
It’s better to have different zones for cardio and strength equipment. Aerobic equipment should have a 40 cm clearance on each side to allow a fitness trainer to stand at a safe distance and guide the users. The back of a treadmill should have 120 cm clearance as well. Cardio machines are best placed facing a window or have a built-in TV to keep users engaged. Consider installing mirrors in the strength training zone to enable guests to maintain proper form and positioning during weightlifting exercises.
4.2 Space
A growing trend of online fitness coaches has caused a shift from traditional exercising methods to more innovative techniques with mobile equipment like Swiss balls, kettlebells, and yoga mats.
Hotels have used these newer trends to favor their ratings and reviews, some even offering rooftop yoga classes to attract guests. The simple treadmill by the basement’s water fountain is not enough anymore.
Bearing all this need for innovation, it’s important to use your space to its greatest potential. Even if you have a limited area available for your facility, you can maximize its impact with smart and efficient planning.
Multi-use exercise units and dual-function fitness machines can be great for allowing a variety of exercises in limited space. Many offer a range of strength movements, weights, and stretches, all in one unit. You should also prefer more compact cardio machines such as space-saving treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes if you’re short on space.

5. Best Hotel Gym Equipment Brands

Once you’ve figured out the type of equipment you’ll include in your hotel gym, you’ll need to decide which brand to go with.
As of now, leading hotels around the globe are choosing any of the following brands for fitness equipment: Technogym (an Italian brand), Life Fitness (American) and Johnson Matrix (American). We’ve described each of these below to help you choose.
5.1 Technogym Representative of Classic European products
Technogym is a world-renown state-of-the-art aerobic and strength equipment manufacturer with bizarre development speed. This influential brand has premium-quality products using innovative technology. Styled in Italian fashion with a soft appearance and matching colors, Technogym products look trendy and aesthetic.
Since the launch of aerobic equipment having built-in LCD TV and touchscreens in 2003, the brand has attracted more customers than before, enabling it to give top American brands some serious competition. Technogym’s major success is being appointed back to back four times as the Olympic Games equipment supplier. However, its major drawback is its price, which is quite high compared to American brands.
5.2 Life Fitness Classic American Fitness Equipment Brand
Life Fitness has earned a reputation for top-quality fitness equipment, especially its innovative treadmill design. The modern design ideas and innovative anti-shock feature have raised the bar for professional treadmills. Its series of treadmills, including TR9000, TR9100, TR9500, and TR9700, have taken the fitness industry by storm. However, models like the 90T, 91T, 95Ti, and 97Ti are suspected of being imitations of other brands.
As of now, Life Fitness is a powerful brand with a vast clientele, including large corporations. Its effective marketing strategies for several years and reliable quality products have helped it maintain its large market share. Still, it may not be the brand for those wanting modern equipment and innovative designs. High after-sales service expenses are another drawback of Life Fitness.
5.3 Matrix the Fastest Growing Commercial Fitness Equipment Brand in Asia.
Matrix comes under the umbrella of Johnson Health Technology. Being in the industry since 1975, Matrix has gained a global reputation as a leading fitness equipment brand in a relatively short time. Its corporate culture promotes innovative concepts, welcomes new ideas, and supports creative problem-solving.
Matrix’s fast-paced progress is no coincidence. It has set high standards for other brands in just a decade and has become a mover and shaker in the fitness equipment industry with its creative yet practical solutions.
5.4 Yanre Fitness Self-design Gym Equipment Manufacturer
A growing number of Chinese brands have also emerged in recent years.
Yanre Fitness is one such brand that works closely with the Chinese Olympic Canoeing Team, along with the largest fitness PT training base in China, Siapu. With premium-quality products comparable to top global brands, Yanre has several top organizations in China and across the world among its clientele.

6. How to Choose a Trusted Hotel Gym Equipment Supplier?

No matter what kind of gym equipment you choose for your hotel gym, the maintenance requirements are inevitable.
Many suppliers offer maintenance services free of cost for a set period, after which you have to pay for the services. Some organizations tend to ignore these maintenance services, believing them to be an extra expense.
However, it is essential to sign a regular services contract with your supplier since scheduled maintenance services have the following benefits:
Hence, gym maintenance contracts can save you from unnecessary hassle and bigger expenses in the long term, ensuring your guests and your equipment’s safety. It enables your facility to run smoothly, addressing problems soon after they arise.
Yanre Fitness has a range of state-of-the-art fitness equipment for hotel gyms, offering maintenance packages for all kinds of budgets and hotel sizes.
6.1 Warranty
While gym equipment suppliers might claim that the warranty they offer covers all kinds of equipment services, you should know that wear and tear is not part of it! In actuality, negligence of your equipment makes your warranty invalid.
Maintenance contracts can solve this issue since they will ensure the replacement of parts where needed, and proper servicing in case of wear, enabling you to avail your warranty to the max. Some equipment problems may have simple solutions you can implement yourself. For such situations, a phone support option can be useful if present in your contract.
6.2 Maintenance
You’ll be surprised to know that according to many corporate managers, the after-sales service of a product is more significant than its brand. This also goes for office gym equipment.
Failure and breakdown during use are common with any kind of equipment. This has made it challenging to reduce the likelihood of failure and minimize troubleshooting after any malfunctioning occurs.
It all depends on your choice of equipment supplier, which will ultimately determine the extent of effort you will need to keep your corporate gym running smoothly.
Some suppliers or agents aren’t looking at the bigger picture at all, only caring about their immediate interests.
We recommend avoiding such sellers who cannot guarantee professional after-sales services unless your company can bear plenty of complaints or even injured employees.
Here are a few matters worth considering when looking for a reliable gym equipment supplier:
Despite the above tips, we understand how tricky it can be when choosing a supplier for the first time. We recommend having a list of credible brands to choose from, to stay on the safe side.

2020.09.22 01:31 mothandlamp8 Significant Challenge Essay

One of MIT's essay prompt asks you to write of a significant challenge/a time when things didn't go to plan and how I overcame that obstacle. I have a few ideas but I'm not sure which one sounds most interesting.
  1. I had an internship in dark matter detection this summer and I had to use python to code histograms and extract values from the experimental data obtained by the group. I had taken AP compsci A but did not know how to code in Python, and it was a bit overwhelming being with grad students and others who seemed far smarter than me, especially as a female. I really wanted to be a meaningful part of the group, so I spent a lot of time scrolling through the API and scavenging StackOverflow to learn Python to accomplish what was asked of me.
  2. For my AP Gov class we were required to do volunteering and I decided to help out a photo petition for a sustainability act. I had to ask strangers to take a photo with some posters I made. It was really intimidating at first as there were many rejections and I even had to drag my friend to do the majority of the talking for me, but over time I began to develop techniques such as how to approach the strangers, what to say first so that they don't walk away before you finish, and who to approach (for example, not asking people who seemed busy). I essentially became more confident through it and learned how to communicate more effectively.
  3. My father's mental illness, as well as his view on women, aggressive tendencies, and his absence from a large part of my life. There's a lot I could say about him but I myself haven't done anything to change the situation (since it's out of my hands), I've just learned to be accepting and open-minded so I don't know if this would be a good writing topic.
  4. I didn't make my school's poms team in my freshman year. I was a figure skater at the time and felt like an imposter trying to be a dancer, but dance simply made me happier and I wanted to devote more of my time to it. So I practiced for hours in my living room and eventually made the JV team the following year, but even then I felt like an outcast as everyone was far better than me and I was always placed in the far back corner. Through continued practice I ultimately made the varsity team my junior year and was even able to dance in the front row sometimes!
  5. I'm naturally a shy person, but throughout high school I've pushed myself to go out of my shell by taking leadership roles (band leaders, skating coaches, etc), and just approaching more people in general.
Which one sounds most interesting to you guys? Is MIT looking primarily for STEM-related challenges? Also, if you have any ideas on how to brainstorm other challenges for this prompt I would love to hear it!! Suddenly my life seems perfect when I try to write this essay because I can't think of any meaningful challenges haha. Thanks for the help! :)

2020.09.21 20:44 skip2myluka Why the Mavericks' 2020 Offseason is So_Freakin_Important

Why the Mavericks' 2020 Offseason is So_Freakin_Important
The Mavs took a major leap this season, going from the lottery to a mid-playoff seed. That said, the Mavericks should be even better next season—with or without major roster changes**.**
For the first time in a long time, MFFLs can feel good about the trajectory of the team. But, despite projected improvements, the team is at least a high-level piece away from contending for a title.
Most of the speculation around the Mavs adding talent focuses on 2021. That summer, Tim Hardaway Jr. and several other contracts come off the books.
However, it seems to me that opportunities in the 2020 offseason are being treated with complacency in the current discourse.
Much of the reason for the focus on 2021 derives from the latest Dallas big-fish free agent target:
The Giannis-to-Dallas clamor is reaching a fever pitch.
Th absurdity of the Mavs FO putting a lot of chips into this plan cannot be overstated. We have seen how well dry powder and superstar chasing has served us in the past.
If the Mavericks were not as close to a championship as they were, this kind of restraint would make a lot more sense.
But, given that the Mavs are a relatively small piece away from a contention-level roster, does it really make sense to forgo a perfectly good offseason just so we can put our roster improvement chips all-in on a Giannis pot with incredibly long odds?

I find it useful to think about Luka’s time in Dallas in terms of ‘eras’.
Eras, in this sense, can be loosely defined as some period of team continuity in roster, coach, style etc.
For example, most recently, the Warriors completed two eras—pre-KD, KD—and have begun a third—post-KD. You could also say that each Lebron destination is an era of its own. Dirk’s 20 years in DFW came with its own set of eras (Pre-Star, Nash, Avery Johnson, Kidd, Monta, Lottery).
If we map ahead a bit, the outline of a 10+ year career for Luka with several distinct ‘eras’ begins to come into frame.
Luka Eras
True NBA greats get no developmental years. For better or worse, Luka is on the clock right now. The goal of Luka’s rookie contract era should be a simple, yet daunting one—win an NBA championship.
In pursuit of that goal, however, it is important to understand the dynamics of coming eras and how to best position the Mavs for sustained success. It is also important not to undervalue each year the team has an opportunity to compete for a championship.
Let’s take a look at what the ‘Eras’ of Luka Doncic basketball could look like from a roster management perspective:
https://preview.redd.it/dkorr7xhojo51.png?width=1866&format=png&auto=webp&s=8474b925419b6a6897e0a8713fd64243d76b7699

Era 1 in Focus: Rookie Contract
While it seems like the timeline for 21 year-old Luka Doncic is just beginning, life comes at you fast. Having star talent in their youth does not absolve a team from hard decision making; just ask the Pelicans, Sixers, and Bucks of late.
The early, tough decisions the Mavs must face center on building a contention-level team around Luka before his max extension. At that point, Luka will be more correctly compensated for his impact with the 30% designated player max contract.
While most Mavs fans are justifiably excited about the prospect of opening space in the 2021 offseason, it also seems that many may be mis-pricing just how fast it will close—with or without new talent.
At the start of the 2022-23 season, Luka’s max extension (which he can sign next summer) is going to hit the books. At that point, Luka and KP will be eating roughly 60% of the Mavs cap.
In addition, the Mavs will have key role players locked in to team-friendly multiyear deals representing another 25-30%.
Filling out the roster with 10-25% of the cap will be an uphill battle. Filling it with the pieces needed to vault this team into the title conversation will be near impossible.
https://preview.redd.it/cs5u41mjojo51.png?width=1456&format=png&auto=webp&s=bfb4b833afa8e12a224730b31bf2137b21c068ac

While it seems like the Luka Doncic timeline is just beginning, life comes at you fast

Luckily, The Mavs have two offseasons, ‘20 and ‘21, before their window for adding significant talent without gutting their depth closes on them for several years.
The Mavs don’t want to put all of their eggs in the Giannis 2021 basket without doing due diligence on roster upgrades (especially ones that vault us into a contender) in the coming offseason.
Why? Well, because waiting for Giannis and the spoils of 2021 puts a ton of undue pressure on executing within the tight window of one year of free agency.
This is why the 2020 offseason should be treated with the importance it deserves.
Roster
Let’s do a basic inventory of the Maverick stables:
https://preview.redd.it/g97tdrkmojo51.png?width=1236&format=png&auto=webp&s=237faf54495854c65ad577433921fd5a8140b4eb
If we look at high-level team needs, the obvious culprit is defense. The Mavs were a misbalanced regular season team in '19-20; sporting the league’s most efficient offense and 17th most efficient defense.
The Mavericks are especially light on defensive guards and wings. They can find more balance by acquiring defense-minded perimeter players. But, they must also commit to prioritizing their defensive personnel in the rotation.
With that in mind, It is essential that any significant piece brought in to flank Luka and KP be a two-way player.
Given they have $35m locked up between KP and Maxi ($50m if you include Powell, Boban, and Cauley-Stein) it’s highly unlikely the team will look to invest more in the frontcourt—so look for the Mavs to avoid any big attached with a significant price tag. Pour one out for the Ibaka and Millsap truthers (seriously though, these are inferior players to Maxi Kleber…).
In terms of adding personnel, the best archetypal fits are a secondary live-dribble creator (ideally one who can put pressure on the rim) and a two-way perimeter player with plus-shooting or plus-defensive equity.
It would be an added bonus if one or both of these players translated into Luka’s next era, or if the Mavs are able to draft starter-level talent for that era in 2020 or 2022.
To recap, before Luka’s rookie extension kicks in (2022-23) we’d like to generate:
  • A two way secondary creator for this and the next era
  • A two way perimeter player for this and the next era
  • A draft pick who turns out to be a starter in the next era
Routes
Free Agency:
Free agency is probably the most interesting route the Mavs can take to acquire the coveted ‘third & fourth guys’. The 2020 class is generally light but has some impact guys that fit the Mavs needs (Vanvleet, Dragic, Bazemore, Grant, Crowder, Temple, Bogdonavic, Ingram, Melton). The 2021 class offers up some interesting non-Giannis opportunities (Lonzo, Oladipo, Richardson, Dinwiddie, Hayward, Porter Jr, Oubre, Lowry, Conley, Isaac, Bridges, Anunoby, Hart, Caruso, Trent).Trade:
Using one or more of their assets (2020 #18, 2020 #31, Brunson, Maxi, DFS), the Mavs could look to upgrade via trade. The Mavs could opt to snatch up veterans who want to compete at a high level (Paul, Lowry) or younger core pieces (Lonzo, Gordon).
To open up more room in free agency, the Mavs might look to attach 18 and/or 31 to dump the contracts of Hardaway, Delon Wright, Justin Jackson, and/or Dwight Powell.
Draft:
The 2020 draft is an interesting one as the Mavs could trade one or both of the 18 and 31st picks for salary cap relief or in a package for a useful piece.
Alternatively, the Mavs could look to add a future piece by using or packaging their picks to move up in the draft. Because the Mavs do not have their first round pick in 2021—and because most draft picks after Luka’s 1st era will be traded for win-now pieces—my preference is to draft players for the future in 2020 and/or 2022.
https://preview.redd.it/pqml1hsrojo51.png?width=1456&format=png&auto=webp&s=71cf74e5227c7e78b24ba263270de367e00efa71

2020 Offseason
The biggest reason I’m an advocate for being aggressive in the 2020 offseason is this:
I don't want the Mavs don’t squander a perfectly good opportunity to make a run at a title as soon as next season.
This is not to say that I want the Mavs to make moves that jeopardize their future ability to compete for titles—but many of the opportunities to vault us into contention next year don’t necessarily dilute long-term prospects.
The latest murmurs are that the salary cap could come in at a similar figure to ‘19-20, or around $109m. We'll use that figure for modeling purposes here.
Going in to the offseason, let’s see how the Mavs stack up in terms of assets and distressed contracts:
https://preview.redd.it/8h3kr4gvojo51.png?width=1250&format=png&auto=webp&s=402d7193d5230bc77a6298ece7903b0650fa6fa7
Depending on whether the Mavs were interested and able to move Hardaway, Powell, Wright, and/or Jackson in concert with their FRPs; and whether WCS opts out; the Mavs could have between $3m to 48m + the MLE ($9.2m) this summer to add talent.
While going through the options, a lot of you are going to ask why [player’s name] isn’t included on the list. They’ve been filtered out, is why. Here’s a handy legend—to be eligible as “worth pursuing for the Mavericks”, you must:
  • Defend at a high level on the perimeter (seriously folks, we need defenders)
  • Shoot the 3 well and at a high volume
  • Not be a big
As mentioned, the most significant move the Mavs can make towards winning a championship as soon as next season is adding a (two-way) secondary live-dribble creator. With that in mind, here are the potential moves at the Mavs disposal, ranked by expected value.

‘A’ Moves: Field a Contender in 2020

A1) Sign Fred Vanvleet @ $90m/4
For all intents and purposes, the Mavs are free agent players in 2020 if they want to be. There is no excuse for the Mavs not aggressively pursuing FVV this summer.
In my opinion, this is the sole no-brainer unrestricted free agency decision in 2020. Vanvleet is 26, so he fits the Mavs timeline and should not lose much effectiveness on his next contract.
He is also a perfect fit: A secondary three-and-D playmaker who can defend at the point of attack, switch, hit threes off the dribble, drive and kick, and who possesses a championship resume. I especially like the fact that Vanvleet can defend so well up and down the lineup.
Vanvleet would also become the de-facto locker room leader for this team and add a sense of grit and toughness to the team.
The Mavs should pursue an agreement at around $22-23m per over four. If FVV agrees, the Mavs can make room by stretching Tim Hardaway Jr and/or by looking to find a trade partner for he or Delon and Powell’s contracts.

For all intents and purposes, the Mavs are free agent players in 2020 if they want to be.

A2) Draft Hayes and Trade for Paul
Killian Hayes is the type of prospect where I think you gamble on him becoming a core piece during Luka’s prime. I’ll discuss why I like the idea of drafting a point guard from this class so much in a later article.
If you look at the theoretical package for a guy like Chris Paul—a top 10-15 player in the league in ‘19-20—its peanuts. The Mavs could probably package Brunson, Delon, THJ’s 2021 expiring, and Powell for Paul and filler.
This move would give their depth a hit (though, to be fair, Brunson and Powell missed the playoffs, and Delon garnered DNPs), but replace THJ with Chris Paul and you’d have a hard time convincing me the Mavs aren’t title contenders.
Paul’s contract aligns well with this iteration of the Mavericks’ role players. And the money that the Mavs should be able to open up post-Paul is significant, ~$50m in 2023.
While I am fond of several other point guards in case the Mavs stay put and don’t move up for Hayes—Kira Lewis, Tyrese Maxey, Cole Anthony, and Tre Jones—I don’t have quite the same confidence mortgaging the near-future on Paul without Hayes.
A3) Trade for a Veteran
If the Mavs are want to be aggressive in pursuing veterans in 2020, the design space for adding talent becomes a lot more interesting.
Guys like Lowry, Jrue, Hayward, and Dipo would require Hardaway, possibly Kleber, DFS or Brunson, and one or more of the Mavs’ draft picks.
This is a gamble. Dallas would potentially need to re-sign these guys and/or hope they don't deteriorate too much. Otherwise, we could be looking at a tough cap situation until the end of KP’s deal.
A4) Trade for a Like-Age Piece
The Mavs have a number of trade chips: THJ’s expiring contract, DFS, Kleber, Brunson, and the 18 and 31 picks in 2020. I think the Mavs would look to package THJ and any number of Brunson and draft picks to go after the players in this grouping.
I suspect this will be the route many Mavs fans prefer. But consider this; the group of players in this list are roughly between the 65th and 100 best players in the league. Fred Vanvleet is a top 50 player, Jrue and Lowry are top 40 players, and Paul is top 15.
Targets & Proposed Trades:
  • Lonzo Ball, 23 1yr $8m (RFA in 2021) [Kleber + Brunson + 31]
  • Aaron Gordon, 24 2yr $35m [THJ + 18]
  • Josh Richardson, 26 2yr $22m (PO in 2021) [THJ + Brunson]
  • Otto Porter Jr. 27 1yr $28m [THJ + 31]
  • Gary Harris, 25 2yr $40m [THJ + 31 or Brunson]
  • Kelly Oubre, 24 1yr $15m [THJ + 18]
  • Josh Hart, 25 1 yr $1.8m [Brunson + 18]
  • Tomas Satoransky, 28 2 yr $20m [Delon + 18]
  • Bogdan Bogdonavic, 28 Sign-&-Trade [Kleber]
  • DeAnthony Melton, 22 Sign-&-Trade [Delon + 18]

‘B’ Moves: Remain Competitive and Flexible for 2021

B1) THJ Opts In, Fill Out Rotation in Free Agency
The key consideration here is that anyone added from this group would need to be comfortable with a one-year deal, because multiyear agreements would eat in to our ability to add talent with cap space in 2021.
The exception to this case is if we were to nab one of the aforementioned players. If we had already used the space on a Fred Vanvleet or Chris Paul, then we can afford to make a multiyear tender at the full MLE ($9.2m). At that point, a lot of these wing names become much more interesting.
Goran Dragic Would he take a one year deal at the MLE to play with Luka? Tough to tell at this point given the Heat’s success.
Kent Bazemore Baze is exactly what this team needs injected into its second unit. A versatile wing who can shoot, defend, and put the ball on the floor a bit for 20mpg.
Garret Temple Temple is a sneaky interesting move if he’s interested in a one year deal at the MLE. I think he would slot right in to the starting point guard role as an off-ball guy with a bit of size who can defend, shoot, and make some reads as a secondary guy. Age (34) is prohibitive in terms of thinking beyond 2020-21, but a nice stopgap option.
Jae Crowder Does he take a one year MLE? I doubt it. A multiyear MLE, though, seems like it might be in his range. I do wonder if he still feels shortchanged by his first stint here.
Justin Holiday
Wes Matthews
Derrick Jones Jr. Derrick Jones Jr. is a very interesting young prospect who I think could have success as a roll man next to KP and Kleber. I don’t know if he’s a guy I would want to assign long term money to given shooting concerns.
Jerami Grant I think Grant would be somewhat interesting. I just find him too similar to both DFS and Kleber (and probably prefer them both, slightly) to really find him all that valuable. His market may just end up being a multiyear mle.
Bogdan Bogdonavic I like Bogdan, I really do. Unfortunately, I don’t see him fitting in as a 3rd guy type due to a lack of defense; and as a sixth man, its unclear to me that he is an upgrade over Seth Curry. He’ll certainly cost more.
I know this move is a Mavs fan favorite but I don’t see how he makes much sense. Additionally, Bogey is restricted, so we’d need to make space before we can hand him an offer sheet.
DeAnthony Melton Melton is the more interesting RFA option in my opinion. Unlike Bogey, I could see Melton being a long term starter next to Luka. He is also 22 to Bogdan’s 28 and he will very likely cost less to attain. If the Mavs can clear a little space, I would be making inquiries into his availability at the MLE or perhaps a bit higher over 4 years.
B2) Extend Tim Hardaway Jr.
This option seems highly unlikely. The extension of Hardaway needs to be done with the expectation that his new contract could be dumped “for free” at a moment’s notice.
Any contract that makes THJ feel made whole after turning down what is effectively a 1y$19m extension would need to include bigger and longer term money than the Mavs should feel remotely comfortable giving him.
The Mavs would need to extend Hardaway at something like $10-11m per year over 3 (at most) to make the contract bulletproof tradable (in the case they need to make space in ‘20 or ‘21 for a talent upgrade).
The replacement of Hardaway seems inevitable as his $19m expiring contract represents the best opportunity to upgrade on talent before Luka’s extension.
If the Mavs decided to extend Hardaway at a market rate extension based on last year’s production (3-4 years at 14-15+ per year), I fear this could be the single most damaging move to the early Luka timeline.
Consider this—because they lack significant draft assets after this year, the Mavs could be stuck in a loop where they are unable to add high-level talent because they cannot move a multiyear overpay to an aging shoot-first guard. This compounds a similarly unmovable Powell deal.
Extending Hardaway to a large deal could mean that the Mavericks are essentially stuck in the same lineup configuration as ‘19-20 for the next 3-4 years…yikes.
As is, it’s highly likely that Hardaway will not be extended by the Mavs.
Draft
If the Mavs are to draft, combining the picks to move forward as much as possible would be beneficial if it meant a shot at one of several players (Hayes, Vassell, Anthony, Kira).
Otherwise, the Mavs should look to draft best non-big available at 18 (with an eye towards Kira, Maxey, Pat Williams, Poku, Tre Jones) and potentially look to add an impact upperclassman at 31 (Bane, Mich St guy, Syracuse guy, Cassius Winston).

Key Dates
2020 Dates are up in the air, I will update these as they change:
-Draft: Nov 18 (tentatively) -Free Agency Begins: TBD

Looking Ahead to 2021
As mentioned, most fans have an eye toward 2021. I understand. But, imho if the chance to grab Fred Vanvleet is there, we MUST do it and not think twice.
If we can collectively sidestep the Giannis fever dream, the rest of the contenders don’t actually look so great.
Oladipo, 29, is the next best fit and most often mentioned. But Victor has struggled to stay on the court the last few seasons. Does it make sense to lock up $60m in two players who might not be available for Luka when the playoffs come? Likewise, Do we want to pay big bucks for an athleticism-dependent player entering his 30s?
Are consolation prizes like Josh Richardson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Otto Porter, or Kelly Oubre upgrades over Fred VanVleet? I personally don’t think so. I could get behind saving the space for Lonzo or Isaac—but they’re restricted, so there’s no guarantee we’d even be able to land them if we did garner interest.
Second tier RFAs like Anunoby, Hart, Trent, and Caruso could make valuable starting pieces. But, as with other RFAs, there is no guarantee mutual interest would even yield a signing. Last ditch fill-ins like Tim Hardaway Jr and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope may be available, but these outcomes all sound incredibly disappointing in the context of adding central talent for the post rookie-contract Luka era.
This class just doesn’t have much for the Mavs unless you’re counting on guys like Lebron, Kawhi, Paul George, or Anthony Davis joining the Mavs. I’m not.
Wrapping Up
Consider one more thing—Giannis might not even make it to free agency in any practical sense. If Giannis signs the extension this summer or quickly re-signs with the Bucks, the opportunity cost of not pursuing Fred Vanvleet or a veteran third option becomes much higher.
Lastly, IF Giannis IS interested in the Mavs next summer, making a move to clear space—EVEN if we utilize future cap space in 2020— should be relatively simple.
My assumption is the Mavs could move Porzingis and/or FVV rather easily if need be.
Go Mavs.

2020.09.21 16:07 MidnightPaper There's a strange newspaper that's only delivered at midnight...(Part 3)

Part 1
Part 2
After the second paper arrived on Wednesday, I decided to keep a close watch on it. I tried taking more pictures, but it seems that trying to take that first one ruined my cellphone camera. I’m looking into getting it fixed.
I set the second Midnight Paper down on a worktable and stared, watching it for any slight change. Hours passed. My eyes grew heavy. Exhaustion seemed to settle into every cell of my body, heavy as lead.
It was 5 AM on Thursday morning when I first started to see it. There were wisps of black smoke rising from the black pages. I leaned closer, covering my nose and mouth with a face mask to avoid inhaling the smoke.
It seemed like the black paper itself was burning up. But there was no fire. The pages were just beginning to curl up and float away, disintegrating into fine smoke before my very eyes.
My phone rang. It was work. I ignored it. I had to keep looking.
By noon, the cover page was gone. The pages beneath it were already curling up too.
By 10 PM, there was only one page left.
By midnight on Thursday, it was gone.
One day. The paper had stuck around for 24 hours, then disintegrated. Suddenly, I was very glad to have taken that picture, broken cellphone camera be damned.
I went off to sleep and dreamt of black smoke and white ink.
Friday. Another paper was coming at midnight. I wasn’t ready for another one. I was exhausted, scared, but also oddly excited. This was weird. Weird in a way unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was like there was a secret, invisible world that had existed beyond my mundane life. And now that I had stumbled upon it, I didn’t want to go back.
I didn’t get reprimanded at work, but there was some tension when I logged on on Friday. Whatever. They wouldn’t understand. I’d like to see how they’d react if they got a Midnight Paper on their doorstep.
11:50 PM. I sat on my front porch. The front door shut behind me, the welcome mat a few feet in front of me.
I’d swapped out the bulb above me for a new one, just in case.
At 11:55 PM, the hairs on my neck stood up. There seemed to be strange electricity in the air. There was a chill, too. One that felt like it went deeper than my skin like it was wrapping around my bones.
At 11:58 PM, a metallic taste filled my mouth, like sucking on a penny.
At 11:59 PM, my eyes began to sting and water, as if I was standing in front of a bonfire.
Then it happened. The lightbulb didn’t flicker, it just shut off abruptly. I was ready. My phone was in my hand. With a few taps, I brought up the flashlight. A patch of darkness, even deeper than the one around me, appeared over the welcome mat.
I brought the flashlight over it, and could just about see the black bundle…then my phone went from being cold to the touch to searing hot in the blink of an eye. I dropped it, hearing glass shatter. The odd thing was, I heard it before it hit the ground.
The air around me seemed to disappear. I wasn’t breathing oxygen anymore. I wasn’t breathing anything. My eyes bulged. My throat spasmed in protest.
Then the light popped back on, and it was done. The air around me was the same as it had been just moments before. I coughed, my lungs screaming for oxygen. I swallowed it in gulps, lightheaded, the dark tentacles of a migraine already wrapping themselves around my brain like a vise.
I pushed through it. I needed to see if the paper was there. I needed to know if my interference had caused it to be taken away.
I sighed. It was there. The same black bundle tied wit the same black twine.
I brought it into my dad’s study, used the knife to cut the twine, and unfurled the rolled-up papers.
Again it was one article, but it was longer this time. This is what was printed on the black pages:

“THE NEW KID:” JAILED TEACHER TELLS BIZARRE TALE
Former English teacher Mark Bailey, found guilty of murder last winter, sat in the visitation room of a maximum-security prison. He looked gaunt, pale…haunted. He was a far cry from the young, athletic man that was a constant presence on millions of television and phone screens across the nation.
Bailey seemed to have it all. He had taught at Roslyn High School for almost a decade. He was well-liked, with many students citing him as the reason they discovered a passion for literature. He was the coach of not only Roslyn High's girl’s volleyball team but also the town’s little league team. He was married to his High School sweetheart, Holly Bailey, a kindergarten teacher.
On the outside, his life was not just innocuous, but downright inspirational: it’s a well-known fact that, instead of traveling to Europe or Hawaii for their honeymoon, he and Holly opted to join the peace corps to volunteer in Africa.
So where did it all go wrong? What transformed the Mark Bailey from five years ago, a well-loved coach and volunteer, into the Mark Bailey who must now be separated from the prison’s general population for his own safety?
The answer has a name: Stephanie Carson. Carson was a senior who attended Herricks High School. She was popular, smart, the star player of the girl’s volleyball team, and already accepted into several Ivy League schools. Stephanie’s promising life was cut short when, after a few weeks of stalking so severe she placed a restraining order on him, Bailey broke into the Carson family home and attacked her with a knife.
Bailey’s trial was a lighting-fast affair, the evidence stacked against him so completely it left no room for interpretation. Yet, there were many online who rallied to defend him, citing his strange, disjointed testimony as evidence for mental illness.
“You don’t understand,” said Bailey in court, “she’s not what you think. You’ll see. Just wait for the new school year to start. If I had more time, maybe I would’ve put an end to it.” After being reminded that Stephanie is now deceased, Bailey exploded into a series of bizarre statements and accusations, many directed at Stephanie’s parents.
After several months of being blocked by Bailey’s court-appointed psychologist, we were able to secure an interview with him. Sitting behind the glass in a beige jumpsuit that seemed to be several sizes too big, Bailey spoke into the phone mounted next to the window, his voice a distorted whisper.
Almost immediately, as if knowing what we were there to ask about, he launched into his story.
“Her name was Monica first. Monica Campbell. So that’s how I think of her. She was the new kid that year. She moved here from California, or so she said. She was instantly popular. Pretty, from a family with a lot of money. She was at the top of every class, straight A’s, 4.0 GPA. She came to the first volleyball practice and everyone could see she would become the best player on the team. She was in my English class too, and she seemed to know more than I did, could quote Yeats on the spot. Oscar Wilde was her favorite though. She got into Yale. Stanford too. Went for Yale for Chemistry. Bright kid. She was even homecoming queen.
There was something about her. Like a spark. Monica was almost too bright. Strangely intelligent. She seemed to be able to learn things right away, and remember every little detail later. My car broke down once, right in school. There must’ve been a dozen teachers trying to help out. Harrison, the science teacher, was fiddling with the motor when Monica walked right up. She looked down at the engine, rolled up her sleeves like a fucking mechanic, and started working on it. She fixed it. The car started right away.
She apparently spoke Japanese, German, French, Spanish. We could only verify the Spanish and the French, but she spoke them fluently.
A few teachers cried when she left, saying they’d miss hearing her laugh in the halls. She made a big impression. Obviously.
I don’t know about her parents. I think her mom came to school once or twice. Dressed like she was attending the Oscars or something. But we didn’t see her after that, or the father, not even at the graduation. Monica was valedictorian.
It was the year after that that things got weird. The first semester had just started when there was a new kid in school again. Her name was Natalie Creed. She moved here from California. She was instantly popular. Pretty, from a family with a lot of money. She was at the top of every class, straight A’s, 4.0 GPA. She came to the first volleyball practice and everyone could see she would become the best player on the team. She was in my English class too, and she knew more than I did, could quote Shakespeare on the spot. Emily Dickinson was her favorite…and she looked just like Monica. Everyone asked her if she was related to her. She said no. But there were rumors. Maybe she was a cousin or a lost sibling.
Her parents didn’t come to school either. She was valedictorian, the homecoming queen too. She got into Harvard and NYU, went to Harvard for Chemistry.
It was weird, everyone said so, but they seemed to forget right away. I was the only one who kept saying how strange it was. That made them look at me like I was crazy, or worse. So I let it slide.
The year after that, we were at a volleyball game at a different school…and there she was again. Her name wasn’t Monica or Natalie anymore, it was Jennifer Cook. She was the best player on that team. Better by far than anyone on ours.
I knew something was wrong, but even asking about her made people look at me like I was sick. There are enough stories about teachers becoming obsessed with one of their students for all the wrong reasons. But it wasn’t like that with me. She looked the same, she acted the same, she always went off the study Chemistry.
So…I followed her home. And the house was one of the biggest in town and we’re in Long Island. It wasn’t Monica’s house, but damn well could have been. Then I saw her, the mom. Monica’s mom.
I knew something was wrong, but when I told my wife, she told me that I was losing it. That I could’t follow anyone home, let alone a High School student. I was a teacher, for God’s sake.
The year ended. When the new year started up, I went looking for her. I went to every school in the area…and I found her. Her name was now Stephanie Carson. She looked the same as Jennifer Cook, the same as Natalie Creed, the same as Monica Campbell. It wasn’t just her looks, she sounded like her, moved like her, played volleyball like her.
I followed her home again. It was a different house, but the same tax bracket. I waited until nightfall then snuck in. A window was wide open. There weren’t any family photos on the walls, just art. The house was fully furnished, not a fake house or anything…they must have been moving for real.
Nobody was home yet, so I looked everywhere. I had to find an explanation. The door down to the basement was open…and that’s where I found it. It was like a fucking lab. There were machines I couldn’t even recognize, a freezer the size of the wall with frozen Petri dishes and test tubes inside. There were also weird books. Astronomy, occultism, demonology.
Then she snuck up on me. Quiet. She must’ve hit me with something because I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital handcuffed to a gurney. The police were there, my wife wasn’t. They said that Monica…Stephanie, was putting a restraining order on me. That I had been following her for weeks. They didn’t seem to know I had broken in. Maybe she didn’t want them to.
My wife wasn’t home when I got back. She didn’t answer my calls either. A few weeks later, I went back to the house, around 4:00 am. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I knew she would be asleep. Maybe I could get her to talk somehow…I wasn’t really thinking straight.
I broke in again. Through the same window. I went down to the basement…and it was empty. Totally empty. Just bare concrete and drag marks where things had been taken out.
I was furious. She was hiding things to make me look worse. I could almost imagine her having those things taken out with a condescending smile on her face.
I went up the stairs. I thought her room had to be one of the smaller ones, but when I opened it it was all wrong. There were two sets of clothes in the closet. The bathroom was set up for two people. It was the parents’ room. I checked the other small room, but it was completely empty. There was nothing on the walls, nothing on the carpeted floor, nothing in the closet.
Only the master bedroom was left. But why would they give the master bedroom to their daughter? I opened the door. She was sitting up in bed. Waiting for me. With a smile on her face.
I asked her who she really was. I told her I knew she had been in my class, in my volleyball team, in my school. She just said one thing, and it was enough to me lose control: ‘that wasn’t me.’
I pulled her off the bed, dragged her down the stairs. I was going to show her the basement, you see? But it went wrong. She was faster than me. Stronger than me too. She forced my fingers apart and rushed for the kitchen. Then she just waited by the knives. Like she was inviting me to use one.
So I pulled one out. She smiled again. So I stabbed her. Then again. Then again. She was still smiling when the police showed up. Later, they said that she had called them. That she had gotten away for a few moments and called them from the bathroom. But that was a lie. She must’ve called them before I went up to her room.
Her parents were at the trial. And that’s when I knew. They didn’t look sad. Just annoyed. Like I had broken one of their toys. It was the parents, you see? They’re behind this. I should’ve waited for them. I should’ve killed them instead.”
Bailey became frantic when the interview was coming to a close, like a castaway watching a ship fade into the distance.
“Look! It’s up to you! Go to every High School in Long Island. You’ve got to find her! She’ll be there. She’s blonde. Blue eyes. She must be about to graduate again. Follow her home. Get to the parents. Get them talking! You’ve gotta find out why!”
Bailey was found in his cell a few days later. He’d chewed through both of his wrists. The damage was so severe that he bled out before he got to the infirmary. Nobody involved with this publication fulfilled his last request, and we urge our readers to ignore it as well.
——————————————————————————————————————————
I read through the paper a couple of times. Long Island. Not too far from where I live. But I’d never heard of this case. A murder like that, a trial like that, involving a teacher and a student…I’d have heard of it.
By the time I was done reading, it was almost 2 AM. I collapsed into bed and fell asleep, my mind still filled with the black pages…and with that shadow that had left them on my doorstep.
I spent most of Saturday in front of my computer, typing different variations of “Mark Bailey” and the names he had given in the article. Nothing. I was only met with seemingly thousands of Facebook profiles. No articles. No headlines. No memorial pages.
Yesterday, I turned my attention toward the first two articles. I scoured the internet, finding only medical ads and urban legend “games.” No mention of The Ledge Game. No mention of the Removal Doctor.
I decided to go for a walk. It was late, almost midnight, actually. But I didn’t have to worry about that. The next paper was due Wednesday night.
I walked toward the “nice” part of town, where there always seemed to be new businesses and new buildings going up. The cold air felt nice on my forehead, where the seeds of another migraine where already growing.
Then I saw it. It was something so striking, so unmistakeable, that it drove the pain out of my head in an instant of blinding shock.
I was looking at one of the new apartment buildings that had gone up last year. It was already well populated. I could see the checkerboard pattern of lit-up windows and dark rooms. Nothing out of the ordinary…until you looked at the rooftop.
There was a tiny silhouette standing there, at the edge of the rooftop…on the ledge. I rushed toward the building. I was maybe one block away. I wasn’t thinking about the distance, about the difference in height, about the fact that my voice wouldn’t be able to carry all the way up there. I was only thinking about that silhouette…about how it was almost exactly what I had pictured when I read my first Midnight Paper.
The building’s lobby was dark. The front desk appeared to be empty. The glass double doors were immovable. There was an e-card reader on the wall next to them. I couldn’t get in.
I backed up, standing in the middle of the street. I craned my neck, and there it was. The little shadow in the shape of a person standing on the ledge, quivering and shaking under the pressure of high-velocity wind…they were standing on one leg…the other was dangling over the ledge.
I started to shout, but the sound died in my throat. Because the person was already a blur. I closed my eyes, but I felt it anyway. Felt it more than heard it. It wasn’t just a bang. It wasn't just a crack. It was something you feel in your bones, something that stabs you in the stomach and scoops all the feeling out of your legs.
When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t bring myself to look at the body. I just watched the red rivulets snake their way into the gutter. The Ledge Game. It was real. It was real now.

2020.09.21 15:40 EsotericPotato Did the Vikings making the wrong decision by retooling and trying to run it back with the roster they have?

The Vikings are at a stage right now where half of the core that has defined the “Zimmer era” is either gone because of age/expense, or they are on the roster but are approaching their last couple of years of high-level play. From last season to this season, they lost their CB1, CB2, CB3, S depth and big Nickel, DT and anchor of the defense, DE and heart and soul of the defense, WR1, and one of their starting guards. On top of all those holes, they have been missing a legitimate 3tech pass rusher for years and have had a bad offensive line for as long as Zimmer has been tenured. Those are additional areas that also need addressing.
To muddy the waters further, for each hole the Vikings have, they have an equally large talent at another position. They have all-pro talent in Harrison Smith, Eric Kendricks, Adam Thielen, and Danielle Hunter. Anthony Harris was graded as the best safety in the league last year by PFF. Cook when healthy is a top 5 RB. Cousins, Barr, Ngakoue, and Rudolph are pro bowlers. O’Neill has shown promise as a good tackle, and Bradbury has looked (marginally) improved from his rookie year, and we have a bunch of young guys that have either flashed promise or who the team expects long-term to be an important piece (Dantzler, Gladney, Jefferson, Irv, Bisi, Watts).
It was very clear early on in the off-season that this year would be a retool year, at minimum. Zimmer said he didn’t expect the team’s performance to drop off, and the ownership said they aren’t rebuilding… but just because they say that doesn’t make it true. You don’t lose Linval Joseph, Everson Griffen, Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, Mackenzie Alexander, Jayron Kearse, Andrew Sendejo, and Stefon Diggs all in the same offseason and expect to do big things the next season.
It seems that the Vikings FO believes that the aforementioned players that the Vikings still have are a compelling enough group that they want to try to build around that still, and I think their offseason moves are evidence of that.
They traded Diggs and immediately used that pick to draft and (try) to replace him; they took a CB in the first and third who, combined with guys on the roster already (Hughes and Hill), can hopefully replace Rhodes/Waynes/Mack; an offensive tackle in the second to help buff out the offensive line; a NT who eats double teams to replace Linval (unfortunately, Pierce opted out due to COVID-related health concerns); and they traded a second round pick next season for a pro-bowl DE to replace Everson Griffen’s pass rushing ability in Ngakoue.
It’s early in the season, but it’s clear that the FO miscalculated. Through the first two weeks, the Vikings look like bottom feeders. Other than a couple of individual players, there is not a single bright spot on the team. I have no doubt that the team will look better as the year goes on; Kirk will not look like he has the last two weeks every game and the CBs are going to improve as they get more experience. But right now, they do not look like a good team or one that is well coached, and there are a number of holes that are just not going to be filled this year no matter how well any young guys develop. It is clear the only thing they will be competing for this season is draft position.
A fact that the Vikings have been coming to terms with is that many of their most talented players are in the midst of their primes, and/or are approaching the age where their production will begin to dip. Smith, Thielen, Rudolph, and Cousins are all above 30. Kendricks and Barr will be 29 by the end of the season. They’re not ancient, but they’re not young guys anymore either, and every pro athlete has a shelf life. I think the FO wanted to try to capitalize while they’re still under contract, and so far it looks like a gamble that has failed miserably.
To add to this, Kubiak’s offensive scheme so far looks like it’s about 10 years behind the rest of the league. I think it is also becoming apparent that Zimmer, while he is one of the premier defensive minds in football and a good NFL head coach, is not the right guy to lead a team to the superbowl, at least in the current era of football.
The Vikings are in this awkward purgatory where they have a very top-heavy roster with some undeniably talented guys that cost a ton of money, but below that top group they are pretty void of talent. Where do the Vikings go from here?

2020.09.21 04:40 aslfingerspell I "flipped the script" in high school with wrestling.

Cobra Kai is a show I love because of how people become badass and change their lives through martial arts. It also helps that I have my own story (albeit not karate), helping me personally relate to the likes of Robinson/Eli/Miguel/Dimitri.
Before high school, I spent my entire life in the special needs system. I was on the spectrum, and while I had improved significantly since being a little kid, I still had a lot to learn and I was behind the curve in many areas. For example, I had only learned to even tie my shoes when I was 10 years old, whereas most "normal" people learn between the ages of 4-8.
Going to high school was a HUGE change. In special ed classrooms you have just 10-20 kids with 2-3 teachers, but in mainstream school you have 20-40 kids with just 1 teacher. School size dind't help either: going from just around a hundred or so students to around 2,000. Gender also played a role: my special needs school was around 90-95% male, with mainstream school balanced.
I didn't really participate in too many sports or clubs, and while I had friends, I certainly didn't do as much as I could have: I didn't "hang out" after school. I never got a girlfriend, etc.
Then in senior year, I decided to just join wrestling. I just thought it'd be cool. The first practice was completely overwhelming for me, and I basically ran into the supply closet to cry because I just couldn't keep up mentally or physically. One of the coaches comforted me, and the next practice I returned.
I then attended every practice (at least every time I could as far as I remember. There may have been a few times when I just couldn't for whatever reasons) and got better and better. I lost weight and got more fit, going from around 189 to the low 170s. I made a few more friends. My parents even commented on how something had changed with me. I was taking more initiative in my life, and the matches "unlocked" something in me they didn't know before.
My first match, I was destroyed within seconds and almost cried. I was expecting to lose given it was my first match, but I was still shocked at how quickly I lost. Still, I recognized the mistakes I had made. As the season continued, I lost more and more matches, but kept learning more and more. I also watched my teammates' matches and tried to learn from them too.
During one practice the coaches asked, "Now who wants to win?" or some variation (I forget the exact wording). I screamed "I'M GONNA WIN!" or something to that effect. It was definitely one of the most "Hollywood" moments of my life, the kind of thing that you'd write if your life was a novel or script, but it actually happened!
My losses kept mounting, but my knowledge kept going up too. I began to last longer against my opponents, and even get some points in. Whereas I would be instantly taken down and pinned within the first 20 seconds of a match, I could make it to the second of 3 rounds, or get in a takedown or my own.
Eventually, I found myself with another person. In most matches, there's usually a clear wrestler "in possession of the ball", so to speak. Someone who remains in a dominant position most of the match and does most of the offensive maneuvers, versus one player who is trying to defend themselves. I had never been that person in a match before, but this was my time. They try to get up and I bring them down. I maneuver myself into the pin, but they don't call the pin.
I vaguely hear from the din of the crowd "Get your head up!", but my mind doesn't register it. In the heat of a match, you get "tunnel hearing" as well as tunnel vision. You just don't process your senses normally. You're so hyper-concentrated that everything outside your immediate opponent is just an indistinct blur.
I maintain my position, still not getting the pin and the win. I still keep hearing something, so I crane my head up trying to listen better, and then the match is called (keeping my head up was some technicality).
Everyone cheers for me and then my teammates are practically jumping out of their seats. Even the opponent team seems proud, and I even hug my opponent man-to-man.
It was my first and only victory. Later in the season, the tendons in my shoulder get completely severed, requiring a potential surgery (I opted out) and months of healing in a sling. Since I was a senior, my high school wrestling career ended with that injury, but my commitment to the team didn't. I attended every practice afterwards, even just to watch.
At the end of the year when clubs and teams give out awards, I was even recognized as the MVP for inspiring everyone else with my dedication. The MVP plaque has remained in my room to this day.

2020.09.21 02:07 virgo_energy Is school the meaning of success... ? Help!

A little back story, I completed my 2 years of college majoring in marketing. I then went to university right after college and I couldn’t even get through a semester.. I was so overwhelmed and figured where I just finished college, a break wouldn’t be too bad. I dropped out of uni and thought within a year I would probably go back to uni. I didn’t have a job for a couple months, until I found a job that pays higher then minimum wage at a call centre. I enjoy it there and not even 6 months of working there got promoted as a coach so a bit of a higher wage while I coach, then a year and a bit I’m working towards being what they call an assistant team lead, which I am doing currently 2 days of the week right now, just not permanent.
It’s now been a total of a year and 6 months I have been there, I was not expecting to stay at my work for this long as my plan was always to go back to university but I seem to be stuck in this stand still. I currently live alone and have rent, insurance, phone bill, gas, groceries bills and student loans I have to pay for and like that I have some income that I’m not used to particularly having.
At the same time my boyfriend is currently in his last year at uni and all I hear with him and his family is school this, success that and I’m so happy for my boyfriend as he’s going to continue to get his masters. It’s just that everytime I hear talk about these high standards and having a high paying job and success and an education I feel like such a loser and that I should be in school right now I just know it’s easier said then done.
If I went back to school I know I would have to seriously focus and put all my time and effort into it, perhaps move back in with my mom as I would not be able to afford a place of my own I currently have and just truly struggle like I know I would and I don’t even know what I want to do right regarding what I would want to major in or study in school.
I just turned 22 and my relative has been talking about perhaps helping me get into the government which would be a good job so again I’m very overwhelmed at this point of what I should do. I want to be successful and be happy with the money i end up making and feel good about my life and the choices I make in my life , is school and an education really the meaning of success and these higher paying jobs that will make me happy?
Sometimes I feel I’m truly wasting my time and not working towards anything... do I continue to work, see where that takes me and hopefully get into the government and see where that goes or make steps to go to university as I’m far from an academic and not exactly what I want to do... any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have no one to talk about this with. Thank you.

2020.09.20 23:10 reactivespider I am being too frugal. What can I do to get out of this?

So I don't know if this is the correct sub for this, but my problem is this:
I am very very frugal/miser. I walk like I am straight up on the road. The thing is that I actually earn a lot. In fact, I am pretty much in the top 1% among my peers. I have enough savings to afford some nice stuff - maybe even a cheap new car without much worries.
When I joined my job, because of my general attire and behavior my friends thought I was somehow paid very less. Then one day, they asked me how much I make and I told them, and they said that I was probably set for life.
I have friends that roam around the world on a single salary. I on the other hand overwork myself to make as much as my job, sometimes more through passive income (passive income's not supposed to be so strenuous no?).
The core cause of my behavior lies in the coaching my grandma gave me when I was little(they were really messed up during the Hyderabad annexation due to all the chaos, looting, and rioting at that time, and basically came to my current state with almost nothing). The thing is that my parents/cousins/other relatives are absolutely not like that. But I am always worrying that some doom/gloom event might happen and push me out of my current comfort zone. (Like I mean not even poor. Just not living normally).
The current Covid situation has now made my phobia worse. Having good savings, and the ability to have helped my friends who had tough times, I now find it even more out of the question that I might grow out of this habit.
